Hello and welcome to your guided meditation,

Healing your inner child.

Let's begin by finding a comfortable position,

Sitting or lying down in a quiet space where you won't be disturbed.

Grab yourself a blanket,

Some cushions,

Whatever you need to be able to settle in happily.

Gently close your eyes when you're ready,

But equally if you don't want to close your eyes that's okay as well.

Just close them in your own time.

Take a deep breath in and exhale slowly.

Give yourself permission to be here and let yourself settle into this present moment.

As you breathe,

Bring your awareness to your body.

Bring your awareness to your inner world,

How it feels to be you right now here.

Feel the weight of yourself,

Supported by the surface beneath you,

Supported and safe.

Allowing your shoulders to relax,

To gently fall away,

No forcing needed.

And let your jaw soften.

Give yourself permission to be here.

Give yourself permission to be fully present and let me be your guide.

Now,

Take another lovely deep breath in,

Belly,

Ribs,

Chest,

All the way up to your heart space and hold it there for a moment.

And as you exhale,

Imagine releasing any tensions,

Any worries,

Any expectations of yourself or of this meditation.

Just allow yourself to be.

Now,

I invite you to imagine a safe and beautiful place,

A place that feels warm,

Inviting and peaceful,

Maybe somewhere familiar,

Maybe somewhere in your imagination.

It could be a sunlit meadow,

A cozy childhood bedroom,

Maybe a quiet forest with tall,

Tall trees or a beach where the waves kiss the shore.

Find your place,

Take your time.

Let this place form in your mind.

And if your mind is fluttering between places,

That's okay.

Just settle on one,

See it,

Feel it,

And step into it.

As you stand in this safe place,

You notice someone in the distance,

A small figure.

It's you.

It's your younger self,

Your inner child.

And they're walking towards you.

Notice how they walk.

Is it fast?

Is it slow?

Are they looking at you?

What's their hair like?

What are they wearing?

Notice how old they are and look at the expression on their face.

As they come closer,

Take a moment to greet them.

How do you greet them?

How do they look?

Are they happy?

Are they curious?

Are they shy,

Hesitant,

Or very angry?

Whatever they feel is okay.

You are here now.

Gently kneel down and look into their eyes.

Let them know that you see them,

That you remember them,

That they are safe with you.

And if it feels right,

Smile,

Hold out your arms and invite them in for a hug.

And if they come,

Feel the warmth of this connection.

Feel the weight of their body against yours.

Take in every detail with your eyes closed of holding your inner child.

Feel the love.

Feel the safety.

And if they haven't come for a hug,

That's fine too.

Just sit down next to them.

That'll do for now.

Tell your inner child whatever they need to hear.

You'll know what it is they need to hear.

Trust your knowing.

Trust your knowing.

It might be a simple I love you.

It might be you are enough just as you are.

Or maybe you are safe now.

Or you don't have to be perfect to be loved.

What would your words be?

What did you need to hear that you didn't when you were little?

And if you can't find those words,

That's okay.

They'll come one day.

Take a nice deep breath in,

Belly,

Ribs,

Chest,

All the way to the top.

And as you exhale,

Imagine wrapping them in unconditional love,

Whether they're sitting by your side or in your arms.

Hold them in your love.

Now gently ask them if there's anything they want to share with you.

Maybe they have words to say.

Or maybe they just need to be held.

Or maybe they want to just run around with you.

Listen with your heart.

Know with your knowing.

Be patient.

Be present.

Let them know that you are always,

Always here for them,

Come what may.

That they are never alone.

They will never be alone ever again.

And that they are loved beyond measure.

Now,

As you prepare to leave this safe space,

Take one last moment with your inner child.

Hold their hands if they let you.

Smile at them with all your teeth.

And when you are ready,

Watch them return to a place of warmth and light,

Knowing they will always be with you.

They will always be with you.

Take a deep breath in.

And out.

Take a deep breath in.

Feel the love.

Feel the peace in your heart.

Feel the energy within you.

The healing energy.

The energy spreading throughout you.

Don't stand in its way.

And when you are ready,

Gently,

Gently bring your awareness back to your body.

Wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes.

Maybe move your head from side to side.

Pull your knees to your chest.

Stretch if you feel like it.

Take one final,

Deep,

Nourishing breath in.

Belly,

Ribs,

Chest,

All the way to the top.

Open heart.

And let it go.

And when you feel ready,

But only when you feel ready,

Open your eyes.

Welcome home.

Welcome home to yourself.
