Let's take a moment to connect with our body.
Find a comfortable space,
Somewhere you feel safe,
Somewhere you can close your eyes without being worried.
Get yourselves comfortable.
And now allow your eyes to roam,
Roam around this space where you feel safe.
And see where your gaze alights.
Find that object that draws you in and give it all your focus.
Every ounce of your focus,
Every ounce of your attention is now on this object.
And as you focus on this object,
You're cueing your nervous system into a state of safety.
Observe how your body is responding,
How your mind is responding.
Maybe your thoughts are quietening down.
Maybe your body is feeling a little bit heavier in your seat.
Maybe your feet are feeling a little bit more grounded to the ground.
And take a nice deep breath,
Filling from your belly all the way up to your collarbones and then sigh that breath out.
Ah.
And gently close your eyes.
Bring your attention to your body and start to meander that attention from side to side,
Starting with one foot,
Heading over to the other foot,
Taking in all the details of your body,
Winding your focus around your lower legs,
Wrapping it around your knees,
Heading up to your thighs,
To your hips,
To the bowl of your pelvis,
To your sit bones,
To your belly,
To your ribs that are gently moving as you breathe in and out,
Up to your collarbones,
To your shoulders,
To your feet,
And then dive down one of your arms,
Taking in every detail of that arm,
Your arm,
Your wonderful arm,
All the way down to your fingertips,
Hop onto your other fingertips and meander your focus up the other arm,
All the way up to the shoulder,
A bit like a growing vine,
Searching and wrapping.
Bring your attention to your throat,
To your chest,
To your jaw.
Notice if you're holding any tension in that jaw.
Don't try and change it or make it wrong,
Just observe.
And now onto your lips,
To your nostrils,
To the bridge of your nose,
Your cheekbones,
Your eyebrows,
Your eyelids.
Are they heavy or are they trying desperately to open again?
Up to your forehead,
To rest on the crown of your head,
On top of your castle,
On top of your head.
Now,
Just hang out there for a little bit.
It's your time.
This is your present moment.
Claim it.
Now,
See your body as a whole,
Feel it as a whole,
Calling for your attention.
The part of your body that's desperate to open a conversation with you,
Here,
Right now,
In this beautiful moment that you've created.
Take your time.
Allow it to come to you.
Could be tingling in your fingertips.
It could be tingling in one finger.
It could be the sole of one foot.
It could feel a pressure in your knee,
Maybe,
Or tension in your jaw.
Once you've found the sensation that's calling out for your attention,
Hang out with it.
Welcome it.
Hey,
Sensation.
I'm here.
Allow the conversation to start.
What emotion is that sensation carrying?
What emotion does that sensation want you to feel?
What emotion are you being guided towards?
And allow it in.
Open your heart.
Allow that emotion to become the whole of you.
To fill up every nook and cranny of your body.
To flood your brain,
Quieting it as it goes.
Live with that emotion.
And now ask your emotion,
What is it you want to say?
What is it you need me to know?
What is it I haven't been hearing?
Tell me.
I'm so grateful for you.
Welcome what it's got to say.
Like the most beautiful gift you've ever been given in your whole life.
Thank it.
Thank it for what it's just given you.
And it will thank you back.
Now gently start to wiggle your fingers and your toes.
And you can tell your body right now,
I'll be back.
I'm going to be back more and more often.
I've missed you.
And when you're ready,
But only when you're ready,
As the light comes through your eyelids,
Allow your eyes to butterfly open back onto the object you started with.
And take a few breaths.
Integrating from the inner world back into the outer world in the most delicate way possible.
And when you're ready,
Send yourself a message of gratitude for having been made this moment happen,
For having allowed this conversation to have existed.
And I'm so grateful for you.
