The Grateful Flow Meditation This is a meditation based on the Grateful Flow Tool from the book The Tools by Paul Stutz and Barry Michaels.
It is a technique for expressing gratefulness and using it to form a connection to the source of all things which is the source of infinite giving.
This meditation will start and end with the sound of a bell.
So close your eyes and take a deep breath.
And take another deep breath.
Now start by picking out things in your life you can be grateful for,
Particularly things you'd normally take for granted.
Say them to yourself silently,
Slowly,
Slowly enough to feel the value of each one.
I am grateful for my eyesight,
For I am grateful I have hot water.
I am grateful to be listening to this meditation on Insight Timer.
So do this until you've mentioned at least 5 items.
And while you do this,
Feel the side strain of your effort to find these items.
As you do this,
Just take a moment to genuinely feel the gratefulness for each of these items.
Now take each item again and feel the gratefulness you express flowing upward directly from your heart.
Do this for each of the 5 items.
You can say I am grateful for the item.
And then feel the gratefulness flowing upward from your heart.
Let's do this now for each of the 5 items.
So you can say I am grateful for the item and feel the gratefulness flowing upward.
And then take the next item.
I am grateful for and feel the gratefulness flowing upward from your heart.
Now take the third item and do the same with it.
And go for the fourth item and then the fifth item.
And after the fifth item,
Feel your heart continue to generate gratefulness without any words.
Just feel this immense feeling of gratefulness flowing upward from your heart.
And as you feel this energy emanating from your heart,
Feel your chest softening,
Opening up.
And as you are in this state,
Feel yourself approaching an overwhelming presence filled with power of infinite giving.
Now stay with this feeling of infinite giving for some time.
Just feel it,
Experience it,
The gratefulness that is continuously flowing upward from your heart to the source,
The source of all things.
Feel the power of infinite giving.
And now let's take a couple of deep breaths.
And you can open your eyes and just stay with the experience.
Namaste.
