Hi and welcome to this guided meditation.
My name is Lesley and I will be a guide through these minutes of relaxation.
To start the meditation move into a comfortable position.
This can be either sitting or sleeping.
If sitting on the floor you can sit cross-legged.
If using a chair sit with your feet flat on the ground.
Keep your back upright,
Hands on your knees facing outward and head slightly tilted upward.
If sleeping sleep flat on your back without a pillow,
Arms to your sides facing upwards.
Keep your eyes closed with a gentle focus between your eyebrows.
So let's focus on our breathing and start to take deep breaths.
Breathe in through your nose and let the air fill your lungs and then breathe out through your nose.
As we go through this meditation we will keep taking these deep relaxing breaths and if you find yourself lost then bring back your focus to my voice and keep taking deep relaxing breaths.
This meditation is focused on commitment in relationships.
It takes more than loving feelings to have healthy relationships.
It also takes commitment.
Commitment means that we keep on treating our loved ones with respect even if we are angry or upset.
Commitment means promising to support our loved ones now and in the future and also giving them the freedom to grow.
In committed relationships we constantly set new goals.
We are always striving to push our boundaries and achieve more in our relationships.
We are committed to work hard out of loyalty and work towards strengthening our relationships.
There may be times when we get upset,
We get angry or we do not understand the other person and in turn other people may not understand us or why we sometimes act in a certain way.
But what we need to understand is that these are just behaviors and we are not our behaviors.
We can change our behaviors,
We can change and let go of our bad habits,
We can let go of our limited and restricted ways of thinking and we can be less self-centered,
Less self-absorbed and we can start to think about others needs and wants.
So let us be committed to be better people for our loved ones and others around us.
Let us be committed to go together with people who surround us and let us be committed to do our best to improve our relationships.
So as we come out of this meditation let us reflect on the below statements and decide what changes we can make starting right this moment.
The first question what can we do to change our behaviors?
The second question what can we do to be more loving?
The third question what can we do to be more caring?
And the fourth question what can we do to be more understanding?
So reflect on this and strive to build more committed relationships starting right from this moment and I urge you to note down your feelings and what you have planned to change after completing the meditation so as to move our thoughts into action.
Thank you for your time.
