Turning hindsight into insight.
You may sit comfortably.
If you are lying down,
Allow yourself to settle.
And if it feels comfortable.
Gently close your eyes.
Take a slope that in.
And breathe out.
Once again,
Breathing in.
And breathing out.
Allow the body to become a little heavier.
Feel the support beneath you.
There is nothing you need to accomplish.
Nothing you need to work out.
Just allow yourself to be here.
Take another slow breath.
And notice your body.
The face,
The jaw.
The shoulders.
The chest.
The belly.
The hand.
The legs.
Let the breath move naturally.
And begin by simply noticing the activity of the mind.
Thoughts make up.
Images.
Plants Memories You don't need to stop them.
Just watch.
Tauterizing.
Third Passing and perhaps silently the mind yourself.
I can observe.
Without immediately reacting.
Now gently.
Bring to mind a situation in your life.
Where you would like greater clarity.
Choose something manageable,
Not the most painful event in your life.
Perhaps a decision.
Or the relationship dynamics.
Something you have been postponing,
Something you are uncertain about,
Something that repeatedly occupies your mind.
Let it come into awareness.
And notice your immediate reaction.
What happens in the body when you think about this situation?
By abstention.
Openness,
Heaviness,
Restlessness,
Warmth.
Or nothing obvious at all.
What a wasp that is!
Let it be pleasant.
No interpretation yet.
Simply Notice.
And now ask quietly.
What are the facts of this situation?
Not the story,
Not what you feel,
Not what you hear.
What are the facts of the situation?
Simply what do I actually know?
Now what?
What story am I telling myself?
About these facts.
What story am I telling myself about these facts?
Perhaps there is a story about rejection.
Failure.
What someone else thinks,
What should happen,
What must happen.
You don't need to change the story.
Simply recognize it as a story.
And now ask.
What am I feeling?
What am I feeling?
Not what you think you should feel,
But what is actually here.
Feel.
Sadness,
Anger,
Excitement,
Confusion,
Hope Resentment Relief Just name it gently.
And now Oz.
What am I trying to protect?
What am I trying to protect?
Perhaps your image or your security or your comfort or a relationship or your sense of control or your hope Just notice what arises.
Now bring one simple question into the quiet.
What am I not seeing?
Don't try to manufacture an answer.
Let the question rest in awareness.
What am I not seeing?
And another question.
What do I already do?
That I may be reluctant to acknowledge?
What do I already know that I may be reluctant to acknowledge?
Again,
No pressure for an answer.
Perhaps nothing comes and that is perfectly fine.
Insight cannot be forced.
We are creating space.
What do I already know?
That I may be reluctant to acknowledge.
Now imagine yourself 6 months from today.
See yourself looking back at this present moment.
You have lived through these next six months.
You know what happened.
You know what mattered.
You know what did not matter as much as you thought.
And imagine that future version of yourself could speak to you now.
Ass.
What would you want me to notice today?
What would you want me to notice today?
What would you tell me not to be afraid of?
What would you tell me not to be afraid of?
What would you tell me to pay attention to?
What would you tell me to pay attention to?
And what would you tell me truly matters here?
What would you tell me truly matters you?
Allow water workups,
Words,
Images,
Feelings or simply silence.
Now let the future image feed.
Return to yourself,
Your breathing,
Setting.
.
.
Being supported.
And recognize that you do not need to know everything today.
You do not meet perfect certainty.
You only need enough awareness for the next honest step.
Take a breath in.
And breathe out.
And perhaps silently offer yourself these words.
May I see clearly.
May I listen deeply.
May I recognize my patterns with compassion.
May I pause before the acting?
May hindsight become wisdom.
May wisdom become insight.
And may insight guide the choices I make.
Take a slow breath in.
And let it go.
Feel the surface beneath you.
Notice the area that you're in.
Gently move your fingers.
Move your toes.
And when you're ready.
If your eyes were closed,
Slowly open your eyes.
