Many of us are busy doing, living at a pace that can feel relentless, and we miss out on noticing what may be churning below the surface of our lives. This meditation is a gentle invitation to sit, to settle, and to be with whatever wants to be noticed. Nothing needs to be fixed or addressed; it is more a space of knowing and welcoming so we can be more attuned to our lives and accepting of ourselves. Settling in as much as you can into this moment.

Connecting to your breath.

Allowing your body to breathe itself in a way that feels natural.

And perhaps even comforting.

If you notice any discomfort,

Welcome that in.

Maybe it feels like a grumpy child that you invited into this space.

Some dis-ease.

Some longing to get moving and get going.

And like a grumpy child,

You can invite that child to sit on your lap in your stillness.

Soothing that part of you that longs to be doing,

To be in action.

Center yourself by being present to the natural rhythm of your breathing.

Relaxing your forehead,

Your jaw,

And your shoulders.

Consider your life and how you're living it right now.

As if from a bird's eye perspective,

Consider the various aspects of your life that don't feel satisfying.

Maybe they once did.

But now there's something that feels unsettled in you.

Gently set aside any desire to figure out why this is,

And just be with what you notice.

Allowing yourself permission to see things,

To feel things,

To discern things.

You don't have to do anything.

Feel into the texture of this discomfort.

Perhaps this accompanies some ache or tension in your body.

Or you feel part of yourself wants to scramble away.

No fixing,

Dear one.

Just noticing.

That feeling is the wisdom inside of you that's been waiting to be acknowledged.

Intending to that,

Ask yourself,

What do I want to be different and be with whatever comes up?

Let that truth bubble up to the surface.

Allow that thought,

That truth to be.

What do I want to be different?

Stay with that and whatever else you notice.

Try your best to not chase away that thought or those feelings by trying to make this experience more logical.

Be gentle and compassionate with yourself.

Not reprimanding those thoughts.

They get space here too.

Shine some light as if to illuminate the idea of what wants to be different here.

Consider even for a moment what your life would be like if this change occurred.

Notice what your body is like.

Taking in whatever else you're aware of.

Acknowledge what comes up to make itself known.

Savor this moment of enlightenment.

Knowing that there is no doing,

There is no action.

Simply knowing with a gentle ease,

Compassionate grace,

To be with the attunement and wisdom that you bravely have brought forth today.

When you feel ready,

Take out a pen and paper and journal about what you're longing to be different,

What you notice,

How you'd feel,

And how your life would change if this change was to occur.
