Hi there,
Welcome.
Why don't we go ahead and get started.
We're going to begin by closing the eyes and beginning to bring our attention to the mind right within our heads.
Begin to take notice of the thoughts that are happening within the mind right now.
Maybe there's a lot going on,
A lot of mental chatter.
Or perhaps things are pretty still,
Pretty quiet and calm.
Maybe there's something in between.
There's nothing right or wrong for you to be experiencing right now.
In fact it's not right or wrong for your thoughts to be fast or slow right now.
But it could be distressing.
And that's okay,
It's okay to acknowledge that.
What we're going to do is not necessarily get rid of those thoughts,
But we're going to quiet them just a little bit.
And to do that we're going to shift the focus just slightly over to the breath.
Noticing as it comes in and out.
Finding a place within the body you feel it most,
Whether that be deep in the chest,
At the tip of the nose,
Wherever you really feel it coming in and out.
And as the breath comes in,
Imagine it flowing freely into your mind,
Carrying it with it,
Nourishing,
Cleansing properties,
Soothing qualities.
And as the breath rushes back out,
Just as water rushes out from a vessel,
It carries with it discomforts,
Negative emotions,
Perhaps excess chatter things you really don't need right now.
Just flows out with the breath while clean,
Fresh air with its peace and tranquility flows back in.
And the process continues,
Flowing in and back out at a pace that works best for you.
And if you find yourself becoming tangled up again in the thoughts,
It's okay.
Just acknowledge that this has happened and then take a mental step back.
And begin observing,
Once again,
Just as you would observe fish in a tank or clouds in a sky.
And continuing to nourish this space with the breath.
Bringing nourishment in and releasing excess chatter out.
And now,
Taking a moment to let go of the focus on the breath and repositioning your entire perspective on the mind and this moment.
What does it look like now?
Do you notice a difference?
Or is it just about the same as it was before?
Either way,
That's okay.
Know that by taking this moment to be mindful,
You're taking a step closer to being able to connect with yourself and with the thoughts that are going on within your head.
This is good.
This is healthy.
This is something that can help you throughout many aspects of your life,
Which is why I invite you to come back to this practice whenever you feel the need to do so,
Whether it be by listening to this recording or just taking a moment for yourself,
Wherever you happen to be,
Just to breathe and watch what these thoughts do after being nourished by this breath.
So beginning to welcome yourself back to the external environment,
What's going on around you,
Opening the eyes,
Maybe even taking a deep breath,
Just coming back.
So here,
Welcome.
Thank you for joining me and we'll see you again next time.
