Gently closing the eyes,
Settling into stillness.
And on your own taking a few deep,
Settling breaths.
Starting to notice where in your life you feel a bit down or melancholy.
What does this melancholy feel like in the body?
With each breath beginning to meet this feeling with kindness,
With compassion.
It's okay to feel sad.
It's okay to feel down.
It's okay to feel melancholy.
Oftentimes when we feel this way,
It might seem like joy and happiness are out of reach.
It might seem like joy and happiness are far away.
But something to remember is joy comes in waves.
It will find you again.
And happiness,
It's like the sun burning on the other side of the clouds.
On a cloudy day.
Maybe we can't feel the sun in this moment,
But just knowing it's there burning on the other side gives us hope.
So if you're feeling sad and melancholy today,
Meet it with kindness and let the possibility of happiness and joy,
Let the knowing that joy will find you,
Let the knowing that happiness is on the other side of those clouds,
Help get you through the day.
Gently coming back to the body.
Wiggling the fingers and the toes.
Coming out of practice and opening the eyes when you're ready.
