Welcome to this Connecting with Nature meditation.
So just taking a moment just to make yourself feel comfortable.
This could be seated or standing,
Whatever feels right for you.
And inviting you here just to close your eyes,
To feel your spine straightening,
Dropping your shoulders,
Feel your feet planted evenly on the ground and starting to focus on your breath now.
Breathing in through your nose and out through the mouth.
Breathing in through your nose and out through the mouth.
Feeling your body relax and all tension melt away with each and every exhale.
Visualise yourself in a beautiful meadow,
Flowers all around you.
It's a sunny day,
Just the perfect temperature.
You have nowhere that you need to be and nothing that you need to do.
You are exactly where you need to be right in this moment.
You walk down a gentle hill to a beautiful stream,
Surrounded by trees and vibrant flowers.
You decide to take your shoes off,
Feeling the earth beneath you,
Supporting you and grounding you.
Feel the energy in your feet pulsing down,
Rooting your feet into Mother Earth.
She receives and reciprocates your energy.
Feel her charge through your feet,
Up your legs,
Through your arms and your torso and your face.
You feel a gentle smile arrive on your face as you start to paddle in the stream.
You notice the warmth of the sun shining on your face,
Energising every cell in your body.
Feel the coolness of the water on your feet.
So refreshing for your feet.
Exactly what you need on this beautiful,
Warm summer's day.
Allowing yourself to feel Mother Nature flowing through you,
Calming your mind,
Nurturing your soul.
So here I'd like to introduce a word from the Aboriginal Wiradjuri people,
Yindiyamara,
For honour and respect for the stillness of nature.
Just allowing yourself to pause and reflect and sit with the stillness of Mother Nature all around you in this beautiful stream.
She is communicating with you and you have all the time in the world just to open your heart and allow yourself to receive her message.
You hear the sound of the babbling stream,
The birds singing,
The trees rustling in the gentle,
Warm breeze.
You can smell the grass,
You can see the vibrant colours of the trees and flowers reflecting in the water,
All waiting to be received,
Calming,
Energising and inspiring you.
Taking the breath a little deeper now,
Feeling the rise and fall of your stomach,
Breathing in fresh,
Nourishing oxygen,
Breathing out any waste or the carbon dioxide.
Taking a moment here to appreciate the air that you're breathing,
Cleaned and provided to you from the plants and the trees all around you.
Their waste is your survival and your waste is theirs.
Perfect symbiosis.
You look around and you notice that there are no straight lines.
The rough edge and nooks in the bark of the trees,
The meandering of the stream,
The curve of the flowers and the petals.
You realise it's so beautiful with its crux and its flaws and its twists and its turns.
Beautifully flawed,
Yet perfect just the way it is.
You notice the roots of the trees,
All intertwined,
A series of patterns and connections working in perfect unison.
Breathing in more deeply now as you soak up nature's wonder,
So much more than what your eyes can see.
Complex ecosystems all around you,
Perfectly balanced,
So much to give.
You marvel at all the beautiful textures and colours,
The green of the leaves in the trees,
The bright blue sky,
The flowers in an array of yellow,
Pink,
Purple,
The clear water reflecting the blue sky and glistening golden in the sunlight.
These colours look so beautiful together.
Mother Nature is unapologetically herself,
Every centimetre totally unique,
Beautiful in its own way.
You take a seat on a flat rock,
By the stream and feel a gentle smile on your face as you thank her for supporting you in this moment.
You focus on the natural rise and fall of your breath as the sunlight beams down on you,
Providing you with vitamin D,
Drying your feet,
Warming your whole body,
Feeling peaceful,
Calm and content.
Sitting here with the breath for a few moments,
Noticing the crisp fresh air,
Nourishing your body and feeling your body relax with every out breath.
You have everything you need right here,
So perfectly supported and provided for.
Whenever you're ready,
Very gently starting to bring yourself back to your physical space,
Wiggling your fingers and your toes,
You can be content in the knowledge that you can revisit this meditation whenever you want.
A loving reminder that Mother Nature is all around you,
Ready to provide whenever you are ready to receive her.
