Kristen Stake

Kristen Stake is a somatic psychotherapist, an Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist, and a dance artist who helps people reconnect with the wisdom of their bodies through stillness, movement, and mindful awareness. With a background in Buddhist meditation, Internal Family Systems Therapy, and modern dance, she invites participants to explore embodied awareness, embrace all aspects of themselves, and deepen their sense of connection to their bodies and the world. Kristen’s approach draws from her own life experience and is influenced by Vipassana meditation, Active Imagination, and Soulmaking Dharma. Her sessions focus on compassion, equanimity, imagination, and helping others to discover a grounded sense of soulfulness. Her in-depth embodiment studies include Authentic Movement, Qi Gong, Body Mind Centering, dance improvisation, Yoga, and Traditional Thai Medicine. She finds inspiration in divination cards, dance, art, community and nature. She lives in Maine with her cat named Fancy.

Thanks for this guiding, Kristen. I found that the wind of my breath could carry the light, color & openness from one side of my body to the other — from the side that felt more free and expansive to the side that felt brambled and darker. I felt loosening and settling as wind moved from clavicle to clavicle, shoulder blade to shoulder blade, lung to lung, hip to hip.
