Thank you for joining me for this short relaxation meditation to guide you from the activity of today into the peace of tonight.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath as you settle in.
Take another deep breath and feel your entire body exhale and release the day.
Now take a slow full inhale,
Pause and now a slow complete exhale,
Allowing your body to go limp,
Allowing the constant pulsing energy of effort from the day to completely drain from your body.
Now imagine in your mind a dial with a range from one complete relaxation to five committed effort.
You control this dial.
What was your level of effort today?
Was it a five or a four?
Right now as you inhale and exhale,
Imagine turning this dial down past the three,
Past the two,
Toward the one.
Feel the energy of your body turning down,
Relaxing more.
Feel that energy of effort from your mind and your body drain from you down through the bed.
Feel that energy drain from you down through the floor.
Feel that energy drain from you down through the house and down into the earth.
Now allow your body to receive the nourishing energy of the earth rising gently back up this path to restore and refresh you as you sleep tonight.
Let yourself sink farther into your bed,
Allowing your physical body to rest easily,
Naturally.
There is nothing more to do today.
You can let go completely.
It is safe for you to rest now.
And as you drift toward sleep,
Let images fill your mind of the beautiful world that awaits you in your dreams,
In your future,
And in your heart.
