The things that you have to have to surrender your delusions so that life doesn't come with a battering ram at it.

Some of you guys might have battering ram coming at you now.

You gotta have the inquiry and you have to have the connection to stillness.

You've got to get to know that silence.

And,

You know,

Minda was talking and sharing experiences of kind of the vast stillness that can open for us.

And I think everybody knows this experience.

And it feels terrifying sometimes.

And it feels like it's just too vast and you'll get lost inside of it.

And the thing is,

Is you will not.

It's what you are since the very beginning,

Since you first opened your eyes on the planet.

That's really what's been looking out your eyes.

It's what's been breathing your lungs.

It's been what's been moving you.

And you are it.

It's a tremendously familiar place.

So the only thing that's really rising up in that moment is fear,

Is what we were talking about today.

That primal survival-like boundary system.

And if you know that,

If you know that,

You can choose to make a different choice.

So,

You will not get lost.

You will not get overwhelmed by information.

You will not get lost.

You will not dissolve.

You will not leave your body.

That which is producing your body in this moment is that which you are aligning with.

It feels very different.

It can feel very different.

It can feel very disorienting.

And I'll say this only a hundred times because we need to hear it,

Is that we run from God.

We do.

We run from God.

But then we have the tragedy of having missed God.

And so that when you run,

There's a no-win situation because the fear jumps up in front of you.

And then you choose fear,

Although you don't know that you made a choice there.

But I'm slowing it down for you so you can see there's a choice there.

And you make the choice to follow fear,

And it's going to get you in a place of immense longing,

Which is very,

Very painful because you'll have missed it.

There's nothing to be afraid of.

It's fear you want to be afraid of that you want to stay away from.

But this that you are,

This silence,

This vast,

Gorgeous stillness that we're going to go reach out and connect into,

It's going to be massive for some of you.

For some of you it's just like,

Ah,

Some simple,

Soft,

Yummy piece.

For some of you it's massively disorienting.

For some of you it's bliss.

And for all of you it will be all of those things at some point you're going to know who's to know.

But we come to the same moment,

Which is that you have choice in every moment.

And you have it in the next moment,

You have it in the next moment.

And if you choose,

You get it.

You'll have it because it's not like far from you.

It's so close,

So close.

It's not even like an inch away.

It's just,

It's here.

And we're breathing in it,

And we're saturating it,

And you've never been separate from it,

Ever.

And so the choice point to get to know it is going to bring you into such a place of disorientation and newness.

But,

You know,

What the fuck else are you going to do?

Really?

I'll just freaking run back to the first ending.

Firms.

By the nature of the DNA of the Fermi goose,

That you can cant justice the real idea of the future.

Grasses tall enough to make me invisible,

Listening to the piano and cello moaning in the distance.

Then suddenly there was a loud zooming close to my ear.

I was terrified.

A big velvety bee circled around my head,

Almost touched it.

But then it ignored me to land on a purple flower that was so close that it just looked huge and vague,

And the bee started to suck.

At that precise instant it happened.

Suddenly all my fright evaporated.

But with it the bee,

The sun,

The grass,

And I disappeared.

Sunlight,

Sky,

Grasses,

Bee,

And I merged,

You.

But somehow remaining sun,

Sky,

Grass,

Bee,

And I.

It may have lasted for a heartbeat,

An hour,

Or a year.

It was timeless.

Then,

Just as a brookway,

The grass was grass again,

And I was I again,

But filled with an indescribable bliss.

I am part of the sun as my eye is part of me.

I am part of the earth,

My feet know perfectly,

And my blood is part of the sea.

There's not any of me that is alone and absolute except for my mind,

And we shall find that the mind has no existence by itself.

It's only the glitter of the sun on the surface of the water.

Before you start to meditate,

Ask yourself this question.

Is it true that peace and silence are not here right now?

With our intention to move towards quietness,

The first step we take is away from it because we assume it's not already here.

Close your eyes,

Be comfortable.

You don't have to make a big ruckus about comfortable,

But we don't have to be uncomfortable.

Close our eyes to the moon,

From the mind to the body,

And we'll move from the body to the moment,

From the moment to silence.

So just bringing our awareness into our breath.

And all the sounds that are here are so welcome.

This moment is welcome.

We're going to let our awareness linger in our breath.

This is a place where all those thoughts want to jump in.

Fear,

Contraction,

Irritation.

And it's fine if awareness gets captivated there.

It's not a problem.

Just as soon as you notice,

Come back to the breath.

Breath is this beautiful place that we are not in control of.

Notice that as you directly experience your breath.

Again,

It's fine if thoughts captivate the awareness away.

Just return to the breath right here.

What is it to directly experience the breath?

Savouring it.

What is it to bring awareness into the sensations of the body without falling asleep,

Without sleepiness?

Awareness is put clear.

It's crisp.

What is it to be aware of quietness without sleepiness?

Sleepiness can be there and awareness can go below it,

Or awareness can go to the quiet.

You have to be willing.

You have to choose it.

Once you connect to that quietness,

Wander in.

Wander these halls.

Vast,

Spacious silence.

It's not separate from you.

It's not dangerous.

Be uninterested in anything else.

Open your room.

Open your awareness to the quiet.

Let it nourish you.

Let it unfold its richness to you.

It's so vast and so spacious.

It's so sweet.

It's so familiar.

And it's here.

It's on the tip of every wing flap.

It's at the end of every sound I make.

It's in my voice.

The quiet is everywhere.

Notice it.

There's no medicine that you need more than a deep drink of your own self.

This deep,

Still quiet.

This peace.

Surrender the idea that it's not already here.

Surrender the delusion that you are separate.

Let it come to you.

Let it come to you.

Let it come to you.

Let it come to you.

Let it come to you.

Let it come to you.

Let it come to you.

Let it come to you.

Let it come to you.

Let it come to you.

You will lose nothing.

In my experience,

The deeper you go,

The better everything in your life gets.

Because that which creates this moment is this very silence.

The less you hold out against it,

The more it can create.

If you are unwilling,

All those places you are unwilling to shed,

Places the separate me,

Locks the harmony of the creations.

You have everything to gain and nothing to lose.

Because you don't exist.

There is only the silence.

Shed it.

Shed the me.

Shed the story.

Shed the unwillingness.

Drop it in the feet of the silence.

Come deeper in.

Let it come to you.

Let it come to you.

Let it come to you.

Shed the fear.

Come to know the harmony of this quiet so well by shedding.

Shed the contraction.

Shed the resistance.

Shed the fear.

It's such a relief to shed these things.

You came here to get something.

Take it.

Let it come to you.
