This meditation is designed to cultivate and bring more balance to your life.
And as you're listening,
You might be in a place where you're able to close your eyes.
Or you might be in a place where that's not such a good idea.
You might be driving,
For example.
And the wonderful thing that I'd like you to know is that no matter what your outer circumstances are,
That you can still listen and cultivate and experience a greater sense of balance in your life.
So let's begin by taking a few full breaths.
And by that,
I invite you to soften the belly and to let the inhale come as gently and as completely as it feels natural to do.
And as you exhale,
Let the breath release you without needing to control the breath.
Simply bring your awareness,
Your attention to how it feels to breathe.
As you gather your attention to this present moment,
You naturally let go of any concerns,
Of any worries,
Or any weight that might be drawing your thoughts towards a to-do list or to future things that might or might not happen.
And you also gather your awareness away from any past thoughts of regret or nostalgia.
And as you gather your attention and you really begin to observe how it feels to breathe in this moment,
Invite yourself to feel the full luxury within each breath and experience the deep rest within each breath.
Now,
Because you are a human,
You may be noticing that you have lots of different thoughts that are arising and moving across your inner landscape.
And as you bring your awareness to the breath,
You allow those thoughts to cross your consciousness without needing to engage them or follow them.
You simply notice that they're there and you watch them.
With curiosity and kindness.
And because you are a human,
You may also notice different emotions arising across your inner landscape.
Allow yourself to observe them with kindness as you would a friend.
Because these emotions are a part of your human experience.
And simply bring your awareness back to your breath.
And as you observe this experience of breathing,
Notice how each breath is perfectly balanced.
That every inhale has an exhale.
And without needing to control your breath,
It finds the balance all on its own.
Remember that balance is not a static state.
It is not a destination to be reached.
But balance rather is a relationship Balance is fluid.
It is dynamic.
Just like your breath.
Just like the inhale and the exhale.
And remember that just as your breath changes,
Depending upon what circumstances arise,
Your breath is different when you sleep.
And it's different when you're active.
But it is always beautifully balanced.
It simply adjusts.
But even though it adapts and changes,
It remains inherently balanced.
And so your life may also be like this.
Notice that the different forces that draw your attention,
Your family,
Your work,
Your friendships,
Your health,
And all of your curiosities and all of the desires that you have,
Each of these forces relate and respond to one another so that you find a particular kind of balance in every moment.
And that all you need to do to feel more balanced is to return to your breath,
To remembering and experiencing this inherent balance in your life,
Remembering how it feels,
And then fully enjoying that rediscovery.
There are a lot of ways that balance looks like over the course of your life.
In every moment,
You have the invitation to bring your awareness inward.
To remember and reconnect with this deep,
Restful,
Natural balance within every breath.
If your eyes have been closed choose a breath and allow them to reopen.
If your eyes have been open this entire time,
Allow yourself to smile to your experience,
Noticing how it is now.
And remembering that you have access to this balanced,
Restful place,
This dynamic relationship,
Anytime you desire.
