Hello and welcome to this beautiful moment to pause and reflect.
Today we're going to be pausing to reflect on who we are and really getting curious and excited about learning about ourselves,
Exploring ourselves,
Getting in touch with ourselves.
And you can come to this reflection with pen and paper or you can close your eyes and just let this be an internal journey,
An internal reflection and maybe at the end come to pen and paper.
And knowing that you can't do this wrong,
Whatever arises is what is beautifully meant to arise.
So go ahead and we're going to start by you just taking a moment to get settled,
Acknowledging that you're taking a moment to pause,
To reflect,
To take care of,
To be curious and what a beautiful gift that is not only for you but for everyone in your world,
Everyone in your sphere and maybe as I acknowledge you for that and bow to you for that,
Maybe letting your own eyes shut down and just letting your body make any micro movements that it needs to make in order to just be settled during this time of reflection.
Taking out any of your wiggles,
Knowing that the body has restlessness and this is quite normal.
So letting the restlessness kind of move its way out and setting it aside and then letting the body get really,
Really still.
And in this stillness maybe just bring the awareness,
Almost like picking up your awareness like you would pick up a pen,
Picking up the awareness from wherever it is and just bringing it right into the body.
Maybe bringing it to the chest or the belly and just begin observing the breath right here and if the breath isn't accessible for you,
Maybe bringing it to another place in the body,
Observing body sensations or body contact with the floor or the chair.
Just bringing that awareness right into the body and if you can follow the breath,
Just begin to notice the breath or notice the sensation in the body,
Whatever feels most accessible for you today.
And as you bring the attention to the body,
Maybe let the body relax a little bit.
Little bit more.
Letting go of any habitually held tension.
Letting the body almost melt into your seat,
Into your support system that's a chair or bed or the floor.
And as the body settles and the mind settles from whatever you were doing before this reflection or whatever might happen after this reflection,
Just giving yourself permission to be fully here to fully show up for yourself for the next few minutes as we sit and reflect on who we are.
So either staying in meditation or if you're going to be using pen and paper,
You can grab that now or just stay deep in reflective meditative state.
And I want to acknowledge that we're going to start with the material world of who we are,
Not the who we are in the bigger spiritual sense quite yet.
But I want you to begin by reflecting on what do I love?
What do I love?
And letting your mind take you on whatever adventure it wants to.
What do I love?
What do I love?
What places do I love?
What places make me feel at home?
Make me feel safe,
Content,
Comforted.
What places do I love?
What activities fill me up,
Make me feel alive,
Make me feel whole and complete?
What activities make me feel alive?
What foods do I love to eat?
What foods do I love to eat without judgment or examination?
What foods do I love to eat?
What foods make my body feel amazing?
What foods make me feel alive and well?
What foods make me feel great?
What tools do I have that help soothe me when I'm uncomfortable?
What tools do I have that soothe me when I am uncomfortable?
What tools do I have that help soothe me when I'm uncomfortable?
What people make me feel alive,
Connected,
Good in my own skin?
What people help me feel alive and good in my own skin?
What objects do I have that help me feel good?
What objects or animals or things give me pleasure,
Give me feelings of peace?
What do I have that helps me feel good?
What activities make me feel strong and capable?
What activities make me feel strong and capable?
What do I love to talk about and learn about most?
What do I love to talk about and learn about most?
And if those questions are separate,
You can gently separate them.
Now,
Just pause for a second,
Taking in all of the things that you love and adore about this life,
All of the things that make you feel good and connected and alive.
And I want you to just get really still and silent and feel how it feels in the body.
And then right here,
I want you to begin pondering.
What you love most about your life and what you're most grateful for.
And as you ponder something,
Actually try to see it and experience it in this moment.
Feeling the love you have and experiencing the gratitude you have.
Let's get started.
And pondering for just a moment the miracle of this life from these miraculous bodies that function without us having to do much.
The trees that give us the air that we can breathe the water that we can drink nature its beauty all of the animals that exist.
The planet as a whole the close to 8 billion people that are that have been born and all of the people before these people the actual miracle that it is to be alive right now right here.
And taking a moment if your eyes aren't closed to maybe let the eyes close down.
And really feel everything that you love and all the gratitude in your heart,
Really feel it in the body.
Letting it get bigger.
Letting it get as big as it wants to get.
I'm going to end the meditation by letting the bell ring three times.
As the bell rings,
I want to remind you and I hope this meditation helped remind you that you already know so much about yourself.
And that sometimes it just takes moments to pause and look,
To get quiet and investigate.
And that what we like and who we like might change.
And so we can always pause and like Rumi says,
Make regular visits to ourselves.
Letting it get bigger.
You can return to this meditation as often as you need or desire.
Maybe pausing to make more time for the things that you love.
And maybe being courageous enough to let go of some of the things that no longer serve you.
