The Ho'opunono prayer is an ancient Hawaiian practice of forgiveness and a tool for restoring self-love and balance.
It is said that chanting this prayer is a powerful way to cleanse your mind and body of guilt,
Shame,
Haunting memories and negative thoughts.
Get into a comfortable position,
Either lying down or sitting up comfortably,
And gently close your eyes.
Start by taking a few deep breaths in,
In through your nose,
And out through your mouth.
And as you start to let your breath get a little bit deeper,
I want you to picture your breath on the inhale,
Starting in your stomach and making its way all the way up to your throat.
And then gently letting it all go.
We can all be a little bit too hard on ourselves sometimes.
We forget that we're human and we all make mistakes.
Repeat these words after me in your head.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you.
Now take a deep inhale in through your nose and let those words fill every ounce and inch of your body.
If you ever find your mind racing or negative thoughts coming into your head,
Bring yourself back to this space even for a minute.
Allow your breath to remind you why you came here and why you decided to do this meditation in the first place.
Namaste,
Friends.
