Tomorrow is not a certainty.
As much as that sounds sombre,
It is a sobering enough thought to put us into the right now,
The present.
It's easy to say live in the present,
Not always as easy to action.
But this gift of the right now,
Where there's no space or time,
Is a beautiful space to hold with yourself.
It is an honour to be able to take a step back in order to look in at yourself and breathe the life right now,
Right deep in there,
Deep enough to make you see how alive and how in love this very precious moment is.
The beautiful thing about being in this moment is that we release all of the expectations of what we think it should look like or feel like,
What the outcome should be or what it's meant to be,
And we accept that noise,
Mess and imperfection are exactly what creates this perfect precious moment.
You lovely being are bright in this moment and that magic that is flowing from you is real.
You are magic and you deserve to be held by you right now.
I want you to get comfortable,
Either in a seated or lying down position,
Whatever is best for you.
And we're going to take three deep life-giving breaths.
Let's go one,
And exhale a big sigh.
Two,
Inhale,
And exhale a big sigh.
Three,
Inhale through the nose,
And exhale a big sigh.
I want you to set an intention for meeting your today self today.
Maybe you want to say,
Good job,
Self,
Or give yourself a big cuddle.
No shaming,
No shouting.
We're not going to hurt ourselves or reprimand ourselves today.
Let this loving intention just come through to you.
Without judgment,
We're going to feel our body.
Feel your body in the surrounding,
In the space.
Notice how your physical body is feeling.
Is it tense?
Is it relaxed?
Maybe more tense in some places.
Maybe you're tired or sore.
But just observe.
Don't try and correct anything.
Just notice.
Feel your body.
Now,
Whether you're lying on your bed,
Or sitting on a yoga mat,
Or a meditation mat,
I want you to feel your body melt into the earth beneath you.
I want you to feel your body merge with what you are.
Relax yourself.
Merge yourself with your surroundings.
I want you to feel your belly rise and fall.
Now,
Almost like you've got warm,
Warm honey dripping on the top of your head.
As the warm honey drips down,
Feeling this gorgeous sensation of relaxation.
The honey is dripping over your ears.
It's coming down the front of your face,
Accenting your cheeks,
Nose,
Your mouth,
Unclenching your jaw,
Your tongue,
Down the back of your neck,
The front of your throat,
Your chest.
You've released this breath that you've been holding.
Bring your shoulders down from your ears.
Relax your arms.
Release your fingers and clench your grip.
Relax your hands.
Bring the relaxation over your stomach,
From the top of your spine.
Feel that warm base of your spine.
Bum,
Your thigh,
Your hips.
Loosen your legs and let them melt down,
Your knees,
Your calves.
Relax your shins,
Your ankles.
Relax your feet and your toes,
The soles of your feet,
The arches.
Feel that honey just embody you,
Envelop you,
Allowing yourself to be completely relaxed.
Now I want you to picture yourself roughly 10 years ago.
And that version of yourself is the version that you're going to be in the next 10 minutes.
You're going to hop into that body and that person is going to be looking at you,
Your today self.
Have a look at yourself.
Have a look at your hair,
Your eye,
Maybe look at the expression on your face.
Look at the lines,
Look at your skin.
Be kind.
These things are such a gift.
Time,
The time that you've had in your body.
Don't judge yourself.
You are exactly where you need to be.
Now take a deep breath in and fill your lungs with love.
Exhale any form of holding on,
Any expectations.
Just let it all go.
Now in your mind's eye,
I want you to reach out,
Reach out your hands and hold the hands of your today self and feel what this person is feeling.
What are they holding inside of themselves?
Maybe they're feeling overwhelmed or scared.
Maybe they're excited,
Sad,
Maybe lonely.
Whatever it is,
Accept that this is what they are feeling and hold their hands maybe a little tighter.
Give them a squeeze.
For there is only the right now.
There can only be acceptance.
There is only,
You are in absolute awe of your today self.
Proud,
Amazed,
Grateful.
You're looking at this person and you're just so excited that you become this version of yourself.
I want you to tell your today self exactly that.
I want you to say,
I am so proud of the good person that you have become.
Tell them,
Meeting you has given me so much hope.
Seeing you has given me a stable ground to know that everything really is going to be okay.
Tell them that this has been a privilege.
I want you to hug them,
Hug them close.
Hold them so that your heart center is open and open to their heart center.
Thank them for being exactly what they are.
I want you to slowly move away from your today self and look into their eyes.
I want you to smile and as you say goodbye,
Squeeze their hands and tell them that you love them for everything they are and that you will meet again.
Tell them that the kindness that they are showing themselves right now is breathing life into their every moment.
Now again,
We're going to breathe in loving kindness and breathe out all that holding on.
Breathe out the expectation.
As you walk away,
I want you to wave.
Self-care is not selfish.
Being with yourself right now is not wasted time.
Giving yourself the time is living in this moment and loving yourself.
Being open to growth is not scary or it shouldn't be.
Opening yourself to growth is loving kindness.
I want you to repeat these affirmations.
I am in this present moment.
I am safe in this present moment.
I am love in this present moment.
And so it is.
I want you to slowly bring yourself back to the room.
Wring out your fingers a little bit.
Feel the air on your skin.
Let your body become more aware of your surroundings again.
Now I want you to lift your hands and put them over your eyes and softly open them.
Open your eyes and then very gently and slowly remove your hands from your eyes to let the light in.
I want to thank you for loving yourself today.
I want to thank you for being kind to yourself today.
And I look so forward to doing this with you again tomorrow.
Namaste.
