I don't know about you,
But sometimes I just feel like my brain needs a bath.
Like I've had so many thoughts just swirling and swirling and swirling and swirling and ah,
I just want to shout enough and make it be quiet in there.
So this is the meditation to help you give your brain a bath.
Come into whatever position you feel like being in for this meditation,
Whether that is sitting in a chair,
Sitting on the ground,
Sitting on a pillow,
Lying down,
Lying with your legs up the wall,
Lying on a bed,
Whatever feels good to you.
Arrive in your meditation position,
Eyes closed or kind of staring into nothingness and sink into your body.
Arrive,
Bring the energy down from your busy mind.
I often feel like my brain just feels like a traffic jam on a superhighway.
So we're going to come down out of that traffic jam and come into our bodies.
Pull your energy down from your head into your chest,
Into your shoulders,
Into your arms,
Down to your elbows,
To your wrists,
To your fingertips and pull it down from your chest to your belly button.
And pull it down to your hips.
Pull it down to your knees,
Pull it down to your ankles,
Pull it down to your heels,
Pull it out to the tips of your toes.
And rest here.
Rest with your energy in your body.
Even if your head keeps pulling you back up there,
That's okay.
Just gently encourage your energy to come more firmly into your body.
Allow your body to feel heavy.
Feel the density in your body,
The mass of your body,
The physicality of your body.
Feel that your body takes up space.
Feel that you take up space.
Feel the comfort of living in your body.
Your body is filled with wisdom.
Your body has all the answers.
Just be in your body right now.
Again,
Every time your head tries to pull your energy back up there,
Just gently,
Kindly pull it back into your body,
Taking yourself again from your head down into your neck,
Into your shoulders,
Down your elbows,
To your wrists,
To your fingertips.
Feeling one finger at a time.
Burst on the right hand.
And then on the left hand.
Then pulling your energy down into your chest,
To your belly button,
To your hips,
To your knees,
To your ankles,
To your heels,
To the tips of your toes.
Feeling into one toe at a time.
Burst on one foot.
And then on the other foot.
Allow yourself to feel solid,
To feel rooted in your body.
And with all of the energy in your body,
We're just going to take little teeny tiny bit of energy up to your head.
And you can use whatever image works for you,
Whether you think of actually scrubbing your brain gently,
Like sudsing it up,
Like you're washing your hair,
Or if you want to imagine using a vacuum and just cleaning out everything that feels like clutter in there.
Or one of my favorite images is a purple tornado.
And I let that tornado come into my mind and just clear out all the energy that isn't mine.
All the energy that's causing suffering.
And use the suds or the vacuum or the tornado and then come back into your body and rest here.
And check in with yourself.
Do you need to go clean it again?
And if so,
Tiptoe back up there into your head energy and clean it up.
And then come back into your body.
Rest in your body.
Find this stillness in your body.
Finish up the few deep breaths.
Breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Breathe in 234.
Hold it 234.
Exhale 234.
Hold it.
And inhale 234.
Hold it 234.
Exhale 234.
Hold it 234.
Inhale 234.
Hold it 234.
Exhale 234.
And release.
And when you feel ready,
Wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes and return to the present moment with your body,
Your energy in your body and your clear,
Quiet,
Clean mind.
