Welcome friends.
Thank you for joining me here.
Let's begin by settling into the body.
So just find a position where you feel comfortable,
Either seated or lying down.
When you get there,
Take a deep breath in through your nose.
And a soft breath out through your mouth.
And then let's start to scan through the body,
Beginning at the top of the head.
Looking for any signs of tension.
Or stress.
So as we move down from the crown of the head.
Focus your attention in this space behind the eyes.
Around your mouth.
Your jaw.
Maybe create some space between your upper and lower teeth.
Let the tongue rest softly.
Then let your attention scan down through your neck.
Your shoulders.
The chest.
Soften your belly.
Notice it rise and fall as you breathe naturally.
Notice the hips.
Thighs.
All the way down to the tips of your toes.
Let's take another deep breath in.
And a slow breath out.
The other night,
I was walking my dog through my neighborhood.
It was around 8.
30 p.
M.
,
Nearly dark.
And it had been raining all day.
The temperature had not gotten above the mid-50s.
As I walked past a tree that had been full of red buds for days,
I noticed that some of the buds had begun to open and bloom.
I couldn't believe it.
It was so cold and rainy.
And yet these beautiful,
Dainty little flowers were blooming anyway.
Weren't they afraid of the cold?
Weren't they worried the dampness from the rain would soggy their fragile petals?
Didn't they wonder if anyone would even notice them on such a dreary day?
Wasn't it wiser to wait for warmer,
Sunnier weather to bloom?
But there they were.
Their vibrant pink and white petals so striking against the gray and gloomy skies.
Reminding me that conditions don't always need to be perfect.
Circumstances may not be exactly how you'd planned.
You may not feel ready.
But if you surrender to the rhythm of your own nature.
You will bloom when the time comes.
Without force.
Without explanation.
Without even needing to think about it.
You'll just open up and turn toward the light.
Deep breath in.
And a slow breath out.
What in you might already be unfolding?
What might be waiting for you just on the other side of the moment you choose to open.
This might be a truth you've been holding back from saying.
Something honest that's been sitting just under the surface.
Conversation you haven't had yet or words you haven't quite let yourself speak.
Maybe it's a desire that keeps returning.
Something you keep thinking about.
Even if you've been brushing it aside.
Or telling yourself not yet.
Maybe it's a version of yourself you're growing into.
A way of showing up that feels unfamiliar.
But more open.
More honest.
More visible.
Even if it still feels a little tender.
Or maybe it's a step you know you're ready for,
Even if it scares you.
Something that feels quietly clear.
But maybe inconvenient.
Uncomfortable.
Or untimely.
As you breathe here.
Notice what in you is already moving.
Maybe it's time to allow whatever is unfolding in you.
To burst open.
And turn toward the light.
Take a soft inhale here.
And let it go.
There is a timing within you that doesn't need perfect conditions.
Only the courage to bloom anyway.
Trust your own rhythm whatever keeps coming to mind.
Maybe it's time to let it bloom.
Hold that idea in your mind.
And turn to your body.
Give it your attention here.
Where do you feel strong?
Where do you feel tender?
Notice sensation.
And come back to your breath.
And again.
And again.
Sometimes the answers we seek are right before us.
If we would just slow down and be present with what is already here.
Take a deep breath in.
And a cleansing breath out.
As our time here together comes to an end.
Notice how you feel now.
What has shifted in you?
And what has remained steady.
Maybe nothing has changed.
Or maybe something feels just a little more clear.
A little more open.
A little lighter.
Maybe it's still tender.
And that's okay.
Just like those blossoms,
Not waiting for perfect conditions.
But simply opening when it's time.
But whatever is unfolding in you,
Be held here.
And allow yourself to trust the timing of your own rhythm.
Or slowly.
Just begin to bring your awareness back into the room.
Notice the surface beneath you once again.
The temperature of the air on your skin.
Take a deep breath in through the nose.
And a slow breath out.
Bring one hand to your heart if that feels okay.
And one hand to your belly.
Just hold yourself here for a moment and then slowly begin to blink your eyes open.
Coming fully back into the space.
Reach your arms out wide.
And then sweep them up over your head.
Let your palms touch.
And then pull them down together to heart center.
Let's do that one more time,
But this time with breath.
As you inhale,
Reach the arms out wide and sweep them up and over your head.
Let the palms touch and as you exhale,
Pull them down to heart center.
Now turn both of your palms inward toward your own heart,
Stacking one hand over the other.
Together,
Let's take one last big,
Deep breath in through the nose.
And let it go.
May you remember that you don't need perfect conditions,
Only the willingness to soften and open.
And may whatever is quietly unfolding in you be given the space,
The patience,
And the light it needs to bloom in its own time.
Until next time.
What's it be?
