And let's begin our meditation just by finding a comfortable position.
You could be sitting or lying down,
Really finding any position that feels good and supportive for your body today.
Allow your eyes to gently close and take a slow deep breath in and then exhale fully.
With every breath,
Allow yourself to soften,
To settle,
And just to arrive here in this moment exactly as you are.
And now bring your awareness to your body.
Just check in with how your body is doing today.
That incredible and strong body that's carrying life and supporting you throughout your pregnancy.
And just feel the gentle rhythm of your breath moving in and out of your body,
Noticing the natural rise and fall of your belly with every inhale and exhale.
And as you breathe,
Imagine that your baby is breathing with you.
That they can feel every inhale and exhale like a little hug from you.
Know that they already feel your love.
They already know you as a safe and comforting place,
Even if they haven't seen your face yet.
They know you and they love you.
As you continue to breathe,
Imagine a soft golden light surrounding your body.
It's warm,
It's gentle,
It's nurturing and protective.
And this light begins at the top of your head and then slowly moves down,
Relaxing your forehead,
Your jaw,
Your neck,
Throat,
Down your shoulders,
Your arms and hands.
And allow this golden light to pour down through your chest,
Your abdomen,
Where it surrounds baby too.
All the way down the hips,
Your legs,
Until it reaches the very tips of your toes.
Every part of you is held,
And with it your baby is held too.
And now bring to mind any fears or worries you've been carrying around about birth,
Labor,
Delivery,
Any part of the process.
There's no need to analyze them,
But just notice them.
Perhaps it's a fear of the unknown,
A fear of pain,
A fear of not being in control,
Maybe a fear that this birth will be the same as your last if you've done it before.
Whatever it is,
Just gently name it in your heart without judgment.
And as you hold this fear in your awareness,
Imagine you place it into the palm of your hand.
See it there,
Not to judge it or feel bad about it,
But just to witness it with compassion.
Your thoughts,
Your feelings,
Your fears,
They're so valid.
And now imagine that that same golden light surrounds your fears.
It begins to soften it and eventually dissolve it altogether.
And with your next exhale,
Release it.
Just see yourself releasing your fear,
Knowing that you are stronger,
Wiser,
And more capable than your fear ever could be.
And now shift your awareness to your inner wisdom,
Your highest self,
Your inner mother,
Whatever you call it,
That quiet,
All-knowing,
And strong part of you that lives deep within.
This is the part of you that already knows how to give birth,
The part that trusts the process,
That trusts your body and your baby,
The part of you that will guide you through this process.
And now with each breath,
Repeat silently in your mind three times,
I release my fear and I welcome in trust.
My body is wise and my baby is safe.
I am strong,
I am supported,
I am ready.
My inner wisdom will guide me through my birth.
And let these words sink in as if each one is being etched right into your heart.
Feel the support of the earth beneath you.
Feel the love that surrounds you from those that are both seen and unseen.
You are held,
You are deeply supported,
And your inner self will know what to do.
And now gently begin to return to the space around you,
Wiggling fingers and toes,
Feeling your body,
Your breath,
Your presence in the space.
And take a big deep breath in through the nose,
And sigh it out through your mouth.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes and close your meditation practice.
Thank you so much for being here today.
