So for this equinox we are going to focus on this day of balance,
The beautiful threshold and that sacred in-between space that's created on a day like today.
So the fall equinox is a pause between light and dark,
The moment right in between summer and autumn,
And where for just a moment we can honor where we've been and look forward to where we're going even without needing to know exactly what comes next.
Which is really honor that sacred in-between space.
So when you're ready,
Go ahead and make yourself comfortable.
And close your eyes if that feels good to you.
And take a moment to bring yourself into your body.
And bring yourself into this moment.
Noticing how you feel today.
Notice what is happening within you.
What's happening around you.
And just let yourself Be here.
Whatever's happening right now.
Just let it simply be here in the room with you.
And begin to deepen your breath.
Taking a slow inhale through your nose,
Filling up your belly,
Your ribs,
Your chest,
And then open your mouth,
Exhale,
Letting it all out.
Again,
Inhale,
Filling yourself completely with breath.
And exhale,
Softening and releasing.
One more time.
And then let go of any control of your breath.
And allow it to become natural and effortless.
As noticing your air flowing in and flowing out.
And now to honor the balance of light and dark that happens at the equinox,
We'll balance our energy through our inhales and exhales.
Will begin by exhaling all the air out of your lungs.
And then inhale for four.
2.
And one.
Pausing for a moment and exhaling for four.
Breathe.
Two and one.
Pausing again before you inhale for four.
Pausing and exhaling for four.
Knowing that you can extend that breath or that count to whatever feels good to you.
Just make sure your inhales and your exhales stay even in length.
And as you breathe.
I want you to notice the moments in between the inhales and exhales.
So that moment at the very top of your inhale when you're all the way full of breath.
And in that moment,
When you've completed your exhale,
You're empty of breath right before the next inhale begins.
These moments between each inhale and exhale or breathe.
But they mirror that in-between space that we're at right now on the equinox.
Not coming or going,
But suspended in time between summer and autumn,
Light and dark,
Inhale and exhale.
You releasing this breath.
When you're ready.
And returning to your effortless breath.
A smooth rhythm.
And now in your mind's eye.
Imagine that you're standing outside.
On a perfect autumnal evening.
The air is cool and crisp.
The sun still feels warm against your skin.
The leaves around you are beginning to change.
A few are still green.
But mostly the leaves are different shades of gold,
Yellow,
Orange,
And a few that are deep red.
And as you stand here from time to time.
A leaf falls down from one of the branches of the tall trees.
Effortlessly floating down to the earth.
You take a moment to look around and appreciate.
The beauty of this season.
The changing leaves.
The crisp air.
The golden sunlight.
You notice that the sun is beginning to get lower in the sky.
Everything around you is illuminated in that deep golden light.
That deep golden light that seems to only exist.
In this time of year.
As you stand here.
You notice a path in front of you.
And you begin to walk slowly down this path.
Feeling the earth beneath your feet as you begin to move forward.
With each step,
You notice that sunlight moving through the trees.
Creating these beautiful golden patches of light on the ground.
Shiny.
They look like little embers and sparkles of golden light shining between gaps in the leaves.
And dabbling across the ground.
You continue to walk.
Until eventually you come to a place where you feel compelled to stop for a moment.
This place just feels special.
So you pause.
Behind you is the path you've already walked.
Everything that has brought you here.
The experiences you've had.
The things you've learned.
The moments that changed you.
And the growth that happened within you.
Take a moment to look back at the path behind you.
And think about the season that's brought you here.
Who were you at the beginning of the season?
What has changed since then?
What have you learned?
How have you grown this past season?
You.
Just take a moment to honor the version of you that walked that path behind.
Without judgment,
Simply acknowledging that season behind you.
This was a season of your life.
And it brought you here.
You Oh.
And now turn your attention towards the path ahead.
A sun setting now.
The golden light is beginning to fade.
You can see the beginning of the path in front of you.
But you can't see exactly where it leads.
And that's okay.
You don't need to know everything that is coming.
You don't need to know exactly who you will be at the end of this season.
You You don't need to have everything figured out before you move forward.
Right now,
Allow yourself to simply stand in the in-between.
No longer exactly who you were.
But not yet the version of yourself you're becoming.
You're just here.
In this moment.
Standing in the sacred in between.
Take a breath here.
And as you breathe,
Notice.
The golden light around you beginning to change.
The sky turning from golden light into an inky blue as stars begin to appear in the sky and the air gets cooler.
You can feel the seasons changing.
The trees releasing their leaves,
Preparing for what's next.
Staying here under the dark night sky as that last bit of golden light slips below the horizon.
Remembering that as the trees release the old to become a new version of themselves,
So can you.
You are allowed to outgrow old versions of yourself.
To change your mind and to want something different.
You are allowed to evolve into something and someone you haven't met yet.
You are allowed to start a new chapter and a new season of life filled with gratitude.
But for now.
.
.
Simply stand here in this beautiful space in between what was and what will be.
Take a few deep breaths here.
On the inhale,
Think,
I honor where I have been.
And on the exhale,
I welcome who I am becoming.
Allow yourself to be here.
Held,
Suspended between two seasons,
Equally balanced between light and dark.
And existing in the sacred in between.
You.
You Now together,
Taking a big,
Deep breath in through the nose.
Sighing it out through the mouth.
Beginning to reawaken.
Returning to the here and now.
Opening the eyes.
In closing your practice with a moment of gratitude.
For the season behind.
And the one waiting for you ahead.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
And have a beautiful equinox.
