So maybe we roll the shoulders out a few times.
Maybe we lay down.
Anything that feels good to your body,
Do it now to help you settle in for the practice.
And then when you're ready,
Imagine that you're being surrounded by a cocoon of darkness.
This is a very safe,
Comforting darkness.
And begin to breathe here.
Almost like you're sitting outside in the middle of night.
It's dark,
It's quiet,
But you feel so peaceful.
And bring your awareness to your breath.
Just allow the breath to begin to move in and out of your body.
On the inhale,
Feel the breath dance into the body.
And on the exhale,
Feel it naturally leave the body.
And take a moment to rest in this comforting cocoon of darkness.
Almost as if it's a cozy blanket that's surrounding you while you rest.
And begin to send your breath down low into your belly.
And allow your breath to be low and slow and effortless.
And as you breathe,
Imagine that above you,
There's a bright full moon shining down on your head.
And allow this moonlight to pour down past your head,
Onto your body,
Where it illuminates your skin.
The only light that is shining in the darkness is this soft,
Comforting,
Cool moonlight that's pouring down onto you.
It's a calming light,
Soothing.
You sit and breathe as you let the moonlight dance across your skin.
And now feel your breath begin to shift from moving in and out of your body,
To the breath moving up and down your spine.
And on your next inhale,
Feel the breath move up the spine.
And as you exhale,
Feel the breath dance back down the spine.
Just feel the air move in and out of your body,
Smooth and steady.
And feeling the breath dance up and down the spine with every inhale and each exhale.
And when you breathe in,
Feel the breath move up from the base of the spine towards the crown of the head.
And when you breathe out,
Feel the breath fall from the crown of the head back down to the base of the spine.
Noticing now on your next inhale,
The breath rises up and the spine gently expands to take in the breath.
And then as you exhale,
The breath falls back down the spine as it gently contracts.
Almost as if the spine itself is inhaling and exhaling,
Bringing in that nourishment,
That fresh air with every breath cycle.
And as you focus on the breath in the spine,
Notice how the breath turns into a cloud of twinkling stars that are dancing up and down the spine.
Inhaling the light twinkling stars and starlight move from the base of the spine up to the crown of the head.
And exhaling,
The breath falls like shooting stars,
Moving down from the crown of the head back to the base of the spine.
Just allow the sparkling light mist of stars to move up and down the spine as that cool,
Calming,
Soothing moonlight energy pours down on you.
Allowing this light energy of the moon and the stars to work together as you breathe.
Clear your body,
Calm your mind,
And soothe your soul.
Breathing in this cocoon of darkness illuminated by the moon and the stars shining around you and within you.
Just seeing that starlight dancing up and down the spine with every inhale and each exhale.
Just giving yourself some time to rest and renew.
Allowing this light energy of the moon above,
The dancing of the stars within,
Being held in the cocoon of darkness,
Bring you to a place of complete stillness,
Of rest and rejuvenation.
Just savoring a few quiet moments in the stillness,
And taking a moment of gratitude.
Whatever it is that you're grateful for today,
Calling it into your heart.
And take a big,
Deep breath in through the nose,
An open mouth exhale,
Sigh it out,
Letting go and releasing.
Opening up your eyes and closing your meditation practice.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
