This meditation is designed to lead you through a visualization,
To energetically tune into your voice,
Give your voice the rest it needs,
And give your voice a boost.
Whether you create content,
Speak publicly,
Take daily meetings online,
Or if your voice just feels worn down and in need of replenishment,
This is for you.
Start by finding a comfortable position that feels restful yet awake.
Lie down or rest against soft support.
Feel your body breathing here and now.
Lightly close your eyes.
Feel a softness in your mouth,
The palate of your mouth,
Around your eyes,
And below your ears all softens.
Notice the support you feel underneath of you.
Notice the weight of the limbs against the support.
Feel yourself soften and relax a little more.
With your eyes closed,
In your mind's eye,
Notice the base in the front of your throat.
See if you can notice the air around your neck and pull your attention to the space within and around your throat.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in as you start to notice more.
Allow for a slow exhale breath as you relax more.
Continue to softly breathe and start to bring to mind how you have been using your voice lately.
You are welcome to think of situations or flashes of memory or circumstances in which you have been using your voice.
For example,
You may have been talking on the phone with friends and family quite often.
Or perhaps you are the host of work or other types of activities or meetings.
Perhaps you have been teaching a lot or speaking up for yourself.
Maybe you've been advocating for yourself more in your relationships or your work or at home.
You may feel worn down in your voice and you'd just like to rest it.
As you continue your soft breath in and your relaxation,
Call to mind a few examples.
Continue to breathe and keep your attention at your throat's center.
You are noticing in your mind how often you use your voice and with whom and about what.
Continue to relax your body.
Now imagine a purple glow of light.
You notice its cool and calming glow first on your face.
Amplify the color purple in your mind so that you start to see a striking tone of purple.
Picture the glowing purple light.
As you breathe in and out,
Visualize the light entering the crown of your head.
Notice and sense the purple light starting to encircle your skull.
Sense the light as it gently and calmly moves down towards the center of your forehead.
See the gemstone violet glow and imagine with your next breath in that the light has now moved past your mouth down to your throat.
Imagine that the light now gets warmer.
Notice how the purple changes tone or stays the same.
Notice its brilliance and beauty.
Imagine the purple's radiance glowing so much that you can't see any other color,
Just purple light at the base of your throat.
As you breathe in,
Feel the warmth and the radiance.
We'll use this light to visualize internal healing of your voice.
For all that your voice gives and does for you.
For your self-expression,
For speaking up,
For singing,
Humming,
Laughing,
Communicating,
Shouting in excitement,
Gasping in absolute surprise,
Expressing yourself in times of grief,
Whispering something special,
Setting a non-negotiable boundary,
Or gently sharing the words I love you.
Keep breathing here and keep visualizing the glowing purple light at the base of your throat.
Your voice is so important in this world.
It's so nice for us to be able to hear from you.
The world needs your voice.
Promote a deeper restoration of your voice.
Think of deep rest and rejuvenation so that you can enliven your voice,
So you can share it and keep sharing your true self through your individual voice.
Take a full breath into your body as you keep relaxing.
Another deep breath into your body.
Sense the body breathing.
Relax the air all the way out.
Visualize next how you'd like to use your voice.
It may feel more than visualization.
Perhaps it's more sensory in your body or a feeling you want to create.
Perhaps there is something you haven't said that you wish to express.
Or there's a friend you'd like to call and tell them something.
A relationship you'd like to feel more heard within.
Or somewhere you'd like to listen more deeply.
Somewhere you'd like to express yourself more.
Maybe through a song or any self-expression that comes to mind.
Take a few deep breaths to feel the energy of how you can use your voice to amplify.
How you can express yourself through your voice.
After giving it a noticing very intently.
After resting it to fully restore.
You're charging a battery.
You're charging your voice.
Now we'll practice a breath exercise called Brahmari Pranayama or Bee's Breath.
Bee's Breath is said to reduce tension and stress.
It also engages and activates the voice box.
We'll take a deep breath in and on our exhale we'll make the sound that a bee makes.
We'll practice this three times together or you can simply listen in and notice the resonance.
Just listening can give you the benefit of the vibration just as well.
As you listen and practice,
Imagine healing energy within your own voice and within your throat.
Take a deep breath in and just a slow breath out.
Take a deep breath in and inhale full bee's breath here.
Time to breathe in and expand your lungs.
Bee's breath.
Let the vibration settle.
Relax your eyelids.
Sit tall for another moment.
Just letting all the sensations wash over you.
Take good care of your voice and be well.
