Hello and welcome to your meditation.
This meditation is called Return to You.
So as we begin let's take a comfortable seat sitting up nice and tall in a cross-legged position or sitting comfortably in a chair with your feet firmly planted on the ground.
Lengthen up through your spine reaching the crown of your head towards the sky.
Allow your shoulders to gently relax back and down and find your breath.
Smooth even inhales through your nose and exhale through the nose or through the mouth,
Whatever is most comfortable for you today.
Allow this breath to stay with you through this practice and if the mind begins to wander see if you can bring your attention and awareness back to your breath,
Back to this moment.
This practice is meant to remind you of who you are,
Who you were before the world made all of its impressions upon you.
I want you to think back to a time of your life where you felt like you were the most you.
What are the things that brought you joy and happiness?
What kinds of things brought you peace?
Or perhaps it was a place.
Is there a place where you feel the most you,
The most comfortable,
The most relaxed,
The most authentic?
Can you see this version of yourself?
Can you see this person,
This person that had their dreams and beliefs before your parents,
Society,
The media and your friends,
Before they told you who you should be or what you needed in order to be happy in life?
Remember the only voice,
The only opinion that matters is yours,
Especially when it comes to our happiness.
So I invite you to think about the things,
The activities,
The places,
The hobbies or any kind of sports that brought you joy and happiness.
Are those things that you can begin to slowly incorporate back into your life?
I invite you to welcome those activities or hobbies back into your life so you can begin to have that joyful,
Happy,
Carefree feeling.
Allow yourself to rediscover those things,
Those things or activities that make you happy and give yourself permission to do them.
Allow this to be part of your self-care plan.
And these activities or hobbies don't need to make sense to anyone.
They don't need to satisfy anyone else's idea of you.
You do these things purely because they bring you happiness and joy.
And we are in this state of joy and happiness.
We can bring that joy and happiness to other people.
We might inspire other people around us to do things that make them happy.
And think of it like a domino effect.
One person doing one thing to fulfill their happiness leads to another person doing things to fulfill their happiness and so on and so forth.
And just imagine with all of this joy and happiness that people are bringing back into their lives,
The whole world can vibrate at this frequency,
Joy and happiness and filled with love.
When we allow ourselves to do those things,
We set ourselves free from judgment,
From others.
We're not worried about what they think or if they're judging us because we know we're doing something that is in alignment with who we are.
And these activities don't need to cost a lot of money or they can,
But ultimately doing something that makes you happy and brings you joy can never be a bad thing.
Most of us have gotten so wrapped up in our day to day lives that we forget to do things that bring us happiness and joy.
We're so committed to our agendas and our commitments because it is what is expected of us.
But when we allow that inner child to come out and play and enjoy life,
That is when we are truly alive.
So allow yourself to do those activities and ignore any people that have opinions about what you're doing.
Staying true to yourself,
Listening to your intuition and following your bliss is what's most important in this life.
Let's pause here for a few breaths.
Breathing in through the nose fully,
Deeply and pausing at the top of our breath.
An open mouth exhale,
Sigh it out.
Release any judgments you have about the things that bring you joy.
If you're worried about bringing those things back into your life,
That someone will judge you or think that the things you like to do are silly.
Take another breath.
Inhale through your nose fully,
Completely.
A slight pause at the top.
Open mouth exhale,
Release.
Again,
One more time.
Inhale fully,
Completely.
Pause at the top and exhale out through your mouth.
Bring some movement to your fingers,
To your toes.
And if you closed your eyes,
Allow your eyes to gently blink open,
Keeping your gaze soft.
On your next inhale,
Reach your arms up and overhead.
And as you exhale,
Bring your hands down to your heart center.
Pausing again for a moment here,
Connecting with the you,
You of you,
The innermost you.
Make a commitment to adding something to your self-care plan that makes you feel alive,
That allows you to be the most you.
The light in me salutes and honors the light in you.
Namaste and thank you for joining.
