A form of a metta meditation, we actively appreciate two "things" to bring appreciation into our present moment. Filling the space, filling the body, filling the heart. Then, we allow the gratitude and appreciation to remain while we invite a less than desirable "thing" into our experience. Maintain your separation from the difficulty, and keep your appreciation alive. Feel that detachment is possible!

Today is a appreciation meditation.

And for me personally,

My deep appreciation right now is coming from the time that I'm allowed to.

.

.

I was given some extra time,

I feel like,

In this quarantine situation.

I was gifted this time to relax into my purpose and to get quiet and listen to myself,

To my source,

To my family and friends,

And to just my children most importantly,

Is to sit back and listen to them instead of rushing around.

So deep appreciation for that.

So as we are coming into this meditation today,

Finding our inner mission,

Finding what we are seeking,

Finding that it is seeking us.

There's a place for you.

You just have to reach out and find it.

Today's meditation,

As I mentioned,

Is deep appreciation.

Sitting back and revering what we've created,

What's been offered to us in this life,

In this moment.

Active appreciation.

So coming into your breath,

Coming into a deep state of awareness of this current moment.

Just count to yourself in on the count of three,

Out on the count of three,

Slowly.

And do that a few times.

Keeping the eyes open,

Closing them mostly,

Close them all the way.

Coming into deep presence.

So as you connect with this moment,

You're also connecting through the body.

So go ahead and adjust your seat or your position lying down,

Just to get a bit more comfortable.

Settling back in to the stillness of this moment.

So I invite you to call into your awareness one thing,

A person,

A place,

A thing that you can appreciate right now.

Just as it is,

Unconditionally bring it into your awareness.

See it in your mind,

Feel what you feel when you're around it,

When you're in it.

Now bring this sense of appreciation.

Sitting back,

Deep gratitude for this presence in your life.

Becoming the observer,

Allowing your appreciation to fill your space,

Allowing your appreciation to fill your body.

Feel what that feels like in your toes,

In your belly,

Connecting with this sense of appreciation and gratitude for this thing you've invited today.

Filling up with appreciation,

Overflowing with gratitude and appreciation.

Setting this aside,

Calling in a new person,

Place or thing that you can appreciate right now,

Just as it is,

Unconditionally.

Feeling however you feel when it's with you or around you.

Feeling the appreciation,

Feel your space,

Bringing your appreciation into your body,

Feeling it in your shoulders,

Feeling it in your hands,

Feeling your whole body overflowing with gratitude and appreciation.

Now maintain this feeling and invite something that maybe you're having trouble appreciating right now.

Be kind to yourself.

This is just an exercise,

Trying to reframe something that might be difficult for you,

Reframing it in a new light,

Just to make it easier for yourself.

When you're ready,

Bring this person,

Place or thing or situation into your awareness right now,

Maintaining the appreciation and gratitude you've created just before.

Seeing this person,

Place or thing or situation outside of yourself.

Allow your appreciation and your gratitude from before to stay inside your body,

Allowing the difficulty to be separate from you,

That you can coexist with.

Feel the difference between gratitude within you and the difficulty that is outside of you.

You don't have to internalize it for it to exist and you don't have to deny its existence.

Sitting in this place of duality.

Allowing your safety,

Allowing yourself to be contained and gratitude,

Keeping your power within you undisturbed,

Living in a place of gratitude and appreciation for what you've done for yourself.

While difficulties may come and go but are not yours,

Remain separate,

Breathe into it,

Feeling the contrast.

You don't have to internalize negative situations,

You can remain separate.

Allow the awareness of this person,

Place or thing or situation that has created difficulty for you in the past to leave your awareness.

Stay with your gratitude finding a new appreciation for yourself and what you are capable of.

Stay in your power,

Stay in your active appreciation,

Breathe it in,

Breathe it out.

When you're ready,

Coming back slowly,

Wiggle your fingers and your toes and when you're ready,

Opening the eyes.

Namaste.
