Hello and welcome to this meditation to help you prepare for rest.
I'm so grateful that you're here,
That you're taking time to prioritize your rest.
So important to functioning,
Feeling good and relating to others.
So we'll first take some time to adjust your physical body.
We'll take some time to release your thoughts and we'll trail off gently and quietly and send you off to slumber.
So first take a couple wiggles,
Adjust your hips,
Adjust your shoulders so that you feel as comfortable as possible.
We'll take a pause to think about your day.
Bring it back.
Admire your accomplishments.
Acknowledge your opportunities and welcome what will come tomorrow.
It will be there waiting for you.
Now I ask you to take some deep breaths.
Now we'll step through the body inviting relaxation and release.
Begin with your hands,
These strong hands,
These capable hands.
Thank them for their service today and let them go.
Moving up to your shoulders,
These supportive shoulders.
They do a lot of work in the day,
Carrying you,
Hugging others.
Thank them for all that they've done and let them go.
Moving down to your back,
Your supportive back,
Your strong spine.
So grateful for your back,
Its health and vitality.
And let it go.
Moving down to your hips,
These flexible hips,
These capable hips.
They center your movement in your day.
So grateful for these hips and let them go.
Moving down to your thighs,
The muscles that walk through your day.
Their strength and their agility.
They do so much for you.
Say thank you and let them go.
Moving to your knees,
These complex joints.
So strong and supportive.
Thank them for their service and let them go.
Moving to your calves and shins,
The lower leg,
Raising and lowering your movements.
Shifting with your body fluidly throughout your day.
Send them gratitude and let them go.
Moving down to your feet,
Stepping you through all your steps of the day.
Moving with you,
Carrying out your intentions.
Send gratitude to your feet.
And let them go.
Moving your awareness back up to your belly.
The center of your being,
The container of your life.
So much joy felt in this belly.
Say thank you to your belly and let it go.
Moving up to your heart center,
Your chest,
Your vitality.
All the breaths you take in your day.
All the beats in that beautiful heart.
So grateful for this body and this life and this beautiful heart.
And let it go.
Moving up to your head.
This complex brain,
Your beautiful face,
Your voice,
All of your senses,
All of your thoughts.
Everything that makes you,
You.
So abundantly grateful.
And let it go.
Let it all go.
You are free.
You are strong.
You walk your own path.
You have everything you need within yourself.
You are loved.
You are whole.
You are peace.
You are resting.
You are safe.
