Today's meditation is based on radical acceptance.
For me,
In my journey,
In my unique set of experiences,
I've found that radical acceptance,
Just saying the words,
Is so powerful.
It is granting permission to drop everything that you're resisting.
It is acknowledging that whatever it is can coexist with the solution.
Allowing for radical acceptance is,
For me,
The first step in creating what I want.
It's been a hurdle to overcome,
And moving past it.
So instead of working up the courage,
Working up the physical stamina to jump this hurdle,
We just accept it.
And it's no longer a hurdle.
It's a concept.
It's a practice.
It's not a means to oversimplify the problem.
It's simply a pause button on the worry and the pattern that we may have gotten into in trying to get past the problem.
So just putting a pause on those circular patterns that might hold you back from what you really want.
Breathing into the body,
We'll get started here.
Adjusting your posture,
Moving into a position that gives you a little more freedom of breath,
Freedom of existence,
And freedom to take up space.
Feeling the breath come more easily.
Moving into the present moment,
And focusing on the breath.
Acknowledging any sounds that might be present in your space,
And welcoming them.
And our first step into radical acceptance is allowing whatever noises around you to exist.
Drop the fight.
Drop the desire to change.
Sitting with this feeling of allowance,
Non-action.
Feel the power that that allows you.
Releasing the fight preserves your energy to appreciate.
Releasing your focus on that one thing gives you sight to see so much more.
Taking notice of this feeling.
Make a physical connection with this feeling.
Ask yourself,
Where do I feel this power?
Is it in your belly?
In your arms?
In your feet?
Radical acceptance is a choice that we make.
Once you've made a connection with your physical body,
Go into that place for just a few more breaths.
If you haven't naturally found somewhere,
Choose your belly.
There's no wrong answer.
But if you're still searching for that confidence,
In this moment just choose.
Breathing in.
Breathing out.
Now we call up something in our lives that is creating a fight in us.
Keep it external.
Is it a choice?
Is it a person?
Bringing up something that feels like a hurdle we have to overcome to get to where we want to go.
Try to think of something about this.
Something that we can let go of.
I radically accept my situation.
I want a solution.
I want freedom more than I want this fight.
I have the power to release myself from this.
So that I can move beyond.
Radical acceptance does not diminish the situation.
My feelings,
My boundaries,
My needs are all valid.
And I can move past this.
I want freedom more than I want this fight.
Connecting to the physical body.
Feeling yourself releasing.
Feel yourself overcoming this hurdle.
Feel your power.
And when you're ready,
Coming back gently.
Wiggle the fingers and the toes.
Slowly open the eyes.
And stay.
