Welcome.
My name is Kate and this meditation is part of our 40 days to a personal revolution program developed by Baron Baptiste.
Today we will be doing a 30 minute meditation.
Take a moment and get comfortable in your seat.
Close your eyes and start by noticing your foundation and adjusting your seat and your support system so that you're comfortable.
Now do something on purpose with your hands.
You can simply place them face down on your lap or do something like a mudra,
Any position at all that works for you.
Bring your spine to an upright and alert position and relax your shoulders.
The yogic principle of anicca says nothing is permanent.
Everything will eventually pass.
As you practice today,
Keep that in mind.
All of the sensations,
All of the thoughts are impermanent.
They will not last.
Life is like meditation.
It's in a constant cycle of stillness and chaos,
Forgetting and remembering.
During today's meditation,
Each time you remember to come back to your breath and let go of mental distraction,
Consider it a victory.
As time goes by and your practice deepens,
You will be able to look back and see that the time between your drifting off and coming back to center gets shorter and shorter.
Ultimately,
Your meditative awareness will become so natural to you that this state of being will become a way of life.
We have learned several different techniques during this program to anchor ourselves in our meditation.
Perhaps you prefer anchoring to your breath or maybe the physical anchor of your hands and your body.
Maybe you enjoy the blank screen meditation or noticing the tapes,
Noticing the stories,
Bringing awareness to your state of mind.
Choose the technique that will serve you today that will create equanimity and balance out what's showing up.
And now begin your practice.
You you you you you As you become more skillful in not getting involved with your thoughts,
You'll realize that all thoughts have a natural cycle of rising,
Lingering,
And then melting away.
You may notice how the thoughts create strong feelings or bodily sensations.
Just watch and see how these seemingly powerful sensations rise,
Swell,
And then dissolve and disappear.
As the yogic principle of anicca says,
Nothing is permanent.
Everything will eventually pass.
You you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you The more we embrace the constant change of life,
The less we are knocked over by it.
The less we can be affected by outside forces,
The more inner triumph we experience on our spiritual journeys.
Take a deeper breath.
Take another deep breath.
Before you open your eyes,
Acknowledge the hard work,
The practice you put in,
And the work you're doing for your own mental health.
Namaste.
