To begin this meditation,
Let's find a comfortable seat where your spine is long,
Where your body is present,
But you're comfortable.
Your shoulders are relaxed.
Your jaw is loose and calm.
Your eyes are closed.
Your belly is soft.
Your hands are resting lightly on your lap or on your knees,
Whatever feels comfortable for you.
And let's start by taking three deep inhales in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Breathing in,
Peace,
Calm,
Joy.
Breathing out,
Stress,
Worry,
Fear.
Nice and easy,
Just allowing your breath to move the way it wants to move.
Remembering to keep your body relaxed,
Not squeezing any muscles,
Not holding any tension.
Just let go.
Let go and just start to imagine you're floating down a river.
All you have to do is float.
Maybe you're in an inner tube.
Maybe you're floating on your back.
However you see yourself.
It's just you,
The river,
And nature.
And the river is steering your ship.
The river is taking you where you need to go.
You have no worries at all.
The river has got you.
It will take you to all the right places.
And it will avoid all the wrong places.
And you feel so peaceful,
So calm,
So content,
Knowing that there's nothing you have to do.
No decisions you have to make.
You aren't the one that has to steer.
The river is doing all the work for you.
And just focus on breathing.
Floating is like breathing.
Just breathing in and breathing out.
And the floating feels like your exhale.
That's the feeling.
The lightness and the calm and the peace that comes with every exhale.
Try to focus on that now.
You take your breath in and really soak up the joy and the peace that comes from your exhale.
And maybe let that be your anchor.
You breathe in and you enjoy your exhale.
Just breathing.
All you have to do in this moment is breathe.
There's nothing else required of you.
There's no to-do list here.
Breathing is your only task.
Thoughts don't matter right now.
Your breath is the only thing that matters.
Inhales and exhales.
And start to notice how calm your body feels.
Become aware of the healing that's taking place in your body.
Think about how rested your body is feeling.
How your cells are rejuvenating themselves.
How your body is able to heal itself when you come into this state of relaxation.
No worry.
No stress.
It's pure relaxation.
You are calm.
You are well.
You are healthy.
You are happy.
You are free.
You are full.
