Welcome to this meditation that is designed to help you to reconnect or to strengthen your connection with your true life purpose.
At times when we are very busy jumping from one activity into the next or when we feel stressed we easily lose the connection to ourselves and to what is truly important to us.
At those times it is good to stand still and to reconnect with what really is important to us.
And this meditation is designed for you to reconnect with yourself and your true life purpose.
For this meditation I invite you to close your eyes,
You can sit up straight so that you can fully breathe in and out.
If you prefer to lie down just search for a comfortable position.
Now I'd like you to picture the following situation.
You're taking holidays in the mountains and you're staying in this very beautiful wooden cabin.
You have a spectacular view over the green mountains and in the evening time you decide to go for a walk.
The sun is shining and once you've left the cabin you can really feel the fresh air on your skin.
You breathe in and out the fresh air and you feel light.
It's still quite warm outside and so you decide to take off your shoes and walk bare feet.
You can feel the fresh grass at the skin of your feet.
You start walking bare feet in the grass and you look around and you enjoy the beautiful view.
It's the right place to be and it's the right time to be.
You keep on walking,
Constantly feeling the grass at your feet.
And after walking for a while,
Just a bit further up,
You can see another house.
You haven't seen the house before so you decide to walk in the direction of the house.
When you come closer to the house,
You can see that in front of the house there is this really large garden.
And in this garden which is decorated with beautiful flowers,
You also can see there is a rocking chair.
You walk a bit closer because you're really curious to find out more about this beautiful garden and house.
And when you come closer to the garden,
You can see that in front of the rocking chair there is a very long line of people.
It seems that all those people are standing in line and waiting to talk to the person who is sitting in the rocking chair.
You're too far away to really understand what is going on so you decide to just gently walk towards the garden.
And when you're closer you can start really hearing what those people are saying and it seems that all those people are standing in line because they want to talk to that particular person in the rocking chair.
From listening to what they are saying,
It seems that all those people are taking their time to express their gratitude to the person sitting in the rocking chair.
Some people take their time,
But all people seem to express a deep gratitude towards this person.
At this moment you become very curious to find out more about the person sitting in the rocking chair.
And from where you stand you can't see the person so you decide to turn a bit around towards the front of the rocking chair so you can have a better view on who is sitting in the rocking chair.
You take your time,
You smile to all the people who you meet on your way and once you have a better view on the rocking chair the first thing you notice is that the person is very old.
This person is beautifully old.
Many wrinkles and grey hair,
But a beautiful smile,
A beautiful expression.
When you come closer to the person in the rocking chair all of a sudden it becomes clear who the person in that rocking chair is.
And the person in the rocking chair is you.
It is an older version of who you are and apparently all those people are standing in line because they want to express their gratitude.
Apparently there is something you said,
Perhaps there is something you did and those people they feel grateful for what it is you did or for who you are.
What is it that you did or said that seemed to really have a positive effect on their lives?
These could be small things but nevertheless meant the world for somebody else,
It also could be larger things.
So I'll stay in the background and just reflect for a few moments on why those people want to express their gratitude to you.
And in your own time you can open your eyes again.
Whenever you feel lost,
Whenever you really feel the need to reconnect with your life purpose,
Let those images and ideas be a part of your inner wise guide through life.
