We are all looking for love and acceptance. The journey starts inside of us. In order to form deep, loving relationships we have to become aware of what's going on inside of ourselves . What might hinder us to really accept and love ourselves? Take a few moments to sit with your breath. Connect with your inner self and allow the energy to flow into your heart.

Moving from our heart space and connecting from our soft and open heart,

How do we do that?

One thing that needs to be in place is we need to be grounded and feel secure.

If you picture a big tall tree,

How is the tree secured and stable?

That happens through the root system and that needs to be true for us too.

We need to be grounded,

Feel at home and we can create the space for ourselves.

That can be an outside space,

But it also needs to be an inside space.

When we are grounded,

We are going to be more likely to be connected to our emotions in a way that we are not reactive,

But we can feel our emotions,

But they don't rule us.

Then we can find our power and the heart space allows us to use our power in a positive way.

So how do we get to open our heart and what does it mean to open our heart?

Let's explore that today.

Find a way to be comfortable sitting,

Allowing yourself to drop in and drop the energy down,

Connecting to the earth.

Gently closing your eyes or keeping a soft gaze,

Allowing your breath to flow in and out of your body.

Finding ease in your body,

Allowing your spine to align itself,

Allowing your shoulders to drop away from your ears,

Allowing your arms to hang by your side and your palms to rest wherever they feel comfortable.

Taking a moment to really connect with your breath,

With your inhale and your exhale.

Then for a moment,

Bring your attention to that center of your chest where your heart is located,

Your heart and your heart chakra.

And if you want,

You can place a palm or two palms over your heart.

That's the seed of love,

Also of self-love that allows us to form relationships,

Be comfortable with intimacy,

Allows us to reach out to others,

But also to take in and receive,

Allows us to connect socially,

Emotionally with others,

To accept others and to accept ourselves.

To love and be loved.

We need to really be able to receive in order to give,

And we need to really love ourselves in order to love others fully.

The color associated with this area is green.

Just take a moment to feel your heart taking in the energy with your breath to nurture your heart chakra.

And letting go with your exhale.

Maybe just noticing what comes up for you as you're connecting to your heart chakra,

Any associations,

Any memories maybe.

What's getting in the way for you to soften and open your heart?

Grief often gets in the way of love.

Past experiences and traumas of rejection and abandonment,

Constant criticism.

Conditional love we might have experienced.

Also imbalance in the lower chakras.

Just take a moment to observe and become aware.

What is it for you that might be getting in the way of softening your heart,

Opening it towards yourself?

And don't judge yourself.

Your past experiences,

They happen,

You can't change them.

But you can learn from them.

Notice your breath.

Keep allowing your inhale and your exhale to happen.

And as you're breathing and inhaling energy into your heart space.

And as you're exhaling,

Letting go of what might be getting in the way,

Here are some affirmations for you.

I am worthy of love.

I am loving to myself and others.

There is an infinite supply of love.

I live in balance with others.

And you're welcome to use different words.

Just sit for a moment and notice how it feels to hear these words and say these words to yourself.

How does it feel in your body?

What's coming up for you?

And here are these affirmations one more time.

I am worthy of love.

I am loving to myself and others.

There is an infinite supply of love.

I live in balance with others.

And then just place your left hand over your heart and your right hand on your belly below your navel.

And for a moment,

Sit with this connection to your heart,

To your inner self.

Allowing your breath to flow.

And then take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.

Now allow this meditation to move into the background.

Slowly opening your eyes again,

Coming back into focus.

Seeing the light,

Noticing the room and your surroundings.

Maybe bringing some movement into your body,

Into your fingers,

Your toes.

Maybe your shoulders,

Your neck and your head,

Whatever feels good right now.

Give that movement,

That stretch to your body.

Now you're ready to move on with your day.

Be well.
