Before we begin,
Take a moment to get still.
Find a comfortable seat or lie down if that feels better.
Allow your eyes to soften or close.
We'll take three audible breaths together.
In through the nose,
Out through the mouth.
Allow the exhale to be full and open.
This kind of breathing helps calm the nervous system and signals to the body,
You're safe,
You're here,
You can let go.
Inhale through the nose,
Exhale through the mouth.
Again,
Inhale and exhale.
One more breath in and let it go.
From this quiet place,
I offer you these words.
Dear Higher Power,
Today I don't know exactly what I believe,
But I'm here and I'm willing to begin.
I'm willing to believe that something loving is with me now.
I'm willing to believe that healing is possible.
I'm willing to take one step,
Even if I can't see the whole path.
If I can't believe yet,
Let me believe that I might believe.
If I can't surrender yet,
Let me be willing to try.
If I can't trust yet,
Let me be open to the idea of trust.
Meet me where I am.
I don't have to be perfect to be supported.
I don't have to have it all figured out to be held.
Open the door,
Just a crack.
That's all I've got today.
