This prayer is for the kind of strength that doesn't pretend. You'll begin with grounding breaths and be guided to call in the strength to stay present, to feel, to rest, and to keep showing up—especially when it’s hard. Recovery takes a fierce softness, and this practice helps you remember it’s okay to need support.

Before we begin,

Take a moment to get still.

Find a comfortable seat or lie down if that feels better.

Let your eyes close or soften.

We'll take three audible breaths together.

In through the nose.

Out through the mouth.

Allow the exhale to be full and open.

This kind of breathing helps calm the nervous system and signals to the body,

You're safe.

You're here.

You can let go.

Inhale through the nose.

Exhale through the mouth.

Again,

Inhale.

And exhale.

One more breath in.

And let it go.

From this quiet place,

I offer you these words.

Dear Higher Power,

Some days it's hard to keep going.

The emotions are raw.

The cravings are loud.

And the part of me that used to numb it all is still learning how to live without escape.

I need strength today.

Not the kind that pushes through or pretends.

The kind that helps me stay.

The kind that roots me when I want to run.

Give me the strength to sit with discomfort.

To choose honesty over hiding.

To reach out instead of isolate.

Help me remember that strength can be soft.

That crying can be strong.

That rest can be strong.

That asking for help is one of the strongest things I can do.

Remind me that I don't have to be strong alone.

That something greater is holding me up.

Even when I can't feel it.

Be my strength today.

I leave this in your hands.
