Hello,
And welcome.
This is a meditation for new moms,
A time to help you navigate feelings that may seem heavy right now.
Perhaps the feelings of uncertainty,
Or coping with the stress of parenting.
Perhaps this is needed healing time for you to be the best mom you can be.
Let this time,
And this meditation be what you need right now.
Allow yourself to be comfortable wherever you are.
Whether you are on a chair,
Laying down on a bed,
On the ground outside,
Or sitting quietly alone in your car,
Let your body settle in and relax.
You are gifting yourself these quiet moments,
These important quiet moments.
Start by taking some deep breaths in,
And releasing your breath.
Knowing that in each inhale you are breathing in relaxation,
And on each exhale,
Releasing tension.
Inviting more relaxation and peace within you.
Each breath is a gift to your body.
Exhale for three counts.
One,
Two,
Three.
Hold for three counts.
One,
Two,
Three.
And exhale for three.
One,
Two,
Three.
Feeling the tension in your toes,
Your legs,
Hips,
Torso,
Shoulders,
And face.
Gently release.
Now as you come deeper into your relaxation,
Allow your mind to slip to the back.
Letting now any thoughts,
Feelings,
Or emotions that arise.
Allowing them to be.
Knowing that you can always come back to them when this time for you is finished.
As we place our awareness on self-care,
We remember how often we forget to love on ourselves.
Perhaps because we are busy loving on others,
And a version of ourselves is filled with the love we provide for others.
And it becomes easy to forget how important we are in the life we are living.
Feel the stillness around you now.
You are noticing you and all that you are.
Be present with everything around you now.
Appreciate this wonderful moment where you are able to notice you.
Notice how you are feeling and breathe deeply.
You are a mom.
A wonderful mom.
Each day of motherhood brings new lessons and new opportunities.
You are getting better and better at this new chapter in your life with each day that passes.
You hold so much love within you.
Your warmth is felt by your child and your family,
And now in this space and time,
Let yourself enjoy that warmth.
The kindness you give so freely each day.
Give that kindness now to yourself.
Say aloud or in your head,
I am at peace.
I appreciate who I am.
I am a whole person and am worthy of care.
I celebrate my being human.
Having a human experience,
Knowing in that celebration there will be times I am proud and times that are difficult.
I give myself compassion,
Kindness,
And love through it all.
I allow time for myself to have attention.
May I continue to accept myself and find peace.
May my patience and courage in motherhood stay by my side,
And may I always feel deeply that I am worthy and so capable in motherhood.
Take a deep breath in.
Hold.
And release,
Giving yourself thanks for this moment right now.
So now,
Make an agreement with yourself that when your cup is starting to empty,
You will gift yourself with something that is meaningful to you.
Maybe it is a moment like this,
Or a bath with your favorite soap,
A walk in nature,
Or a built-in time to exercise in a way that is rejuvenating for you.
Whatever it is doesn't have to be big.
A time to share your love with yourself.
Knowing that all your love is connected and comes full circle to those who count on you most in your life.
You are more than you can imagine.
You are enough.
You are loved.
When you are ready,
Slowly return to the space that you are sitting in.
