And welcome to a Love and Kindness Meditation,
Written for the week of your period.
When your period arrives,
The storm of the last twenty-four to seventy-two hours passes.
You may feel tired and sore,
Your emotions turning from raw and passionate to quieter,
Sad and reflective.
Your energy levels are likely low.
At this time,
A loving and kindness meditation is a perfect practice to be gentle with yourself.
This is your time to care for you.
When you care for yourself,
You can be more available to others.
In this week of your cycle,
Your body is asking you to care for yourself.
Be gentle with yourself.
Show yourself compassion.
Take a deep breath in.
Exhale.
Bring attention to your breath.
Feel into your body as you breathe.
Allow your shoulders to relax and your belly to gently rise and fall.
Each time your belly expanding and releasing.
Breathe deeply and slowly.
Allow the distraction of life flowing around you to be part of your experience.
Allow your lungs to fully expand as you breathe in.
Remind yourself that you are gifting your body,
Your breath,
This moment.
Breathing in and exhale slowly.
Allow yourself to relax on every out-breath,
Becoming more and more in the moment.
Breathe in and breathe out slowly.
You can allow your mind to relax.
You can feel your mind become peaceful and still.
If you have any unwanted thoughts,
Simply say in your mind,
Silence now.
Give your thoughts gratitude and know that you can return to them later.
Visualize yourself as you take in this feeling of relaxation.
Let's start by wiggling your toes and giving them so much love and gratitude for being part of your living system.
Feel the energy move through into your legs and imagine sending gratitude to these amazing strong legs that carry you everywhere.
Your legs that have taken you through so many stages and now also may carry young loved ones taking this warm energy of golden light.
Wrap it around your hips.
Breathe deeply.
Send that breath and that love and that light into your hips and your torso as you remember that you are life creating,
Life giving,
And a life nourishing source of power.
While you celebrate the great beauty in all the great strength that is within your hips and torso,
Breathe now.
Breathing in and exhale.
Feel everything that is coming forward and wrap these feelings in a bubble protected by love.
Move that energy that is now brighter and warmer into your shoulders.
Breathe.
Give yourself a gift.
Let your shoulders relax.
Whatever you are carrying,
You can pick up again when this moment is done.
For now,
Let your shoulders ease into the warmth and into the golden energy you are infusing your body with right now.
The energy moves now into your neck and over your face.
Feel your chin relax.
Feel your mouth relax and feel your cheeks release any tension they hold.
Look now at yourself.
See the golden light that you have infused into your being,
The light that is filled with warmth,
Love,
And kindness.
This light is always here.
It is always with you.
Step back in your mind and see your whole body.
Look at it from outside.
You see peace.
You see relaxation.
Above your head,
You notice there is a beautiful bright white light.
This light is full of love and good energy.
It is right above your head.
See your crown opening like a flower.
Watch as this beautiful,
Loving white light pours into your crown.
It begins to fill you as water fills an empty cup.
The light is filling your feet,
Filling your legs,
Filling your torso,
Filling your hands,
Filling your arms,
Filling your neck,
And at last filling your head.
Your body becomes a shining bright golden light.
This light pours over you as water moves through a stream.
It fills you.
You have a deep sense of knowing that you are protected and loved beyond measure.
You are at peace and safe.
Enjoy this beautiful energy,
This gift you have given yourself.
As the time to return to the physical world approaches,
Know as you come back that you are completely filled with love and light.
You will carry this love and light to every person you touch,
In everything you do.
You are always connected to a greater love and protected.
You are relaxed and at peace.
Smile at your body.
You may say or think,
I love you now.
Let your body feel that love as you express it in this safe and warm space.
Breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth,
Place one hand on your heart and the other hand on your womb.
Give yourself love and gratitude for all the good that awaits you today and every day forward.
