Hello my friends,
My name is Kalyani,
And I invite you to join me for a short and sweet,
Powerful break from your day.
Each mindful minutes practice is a soft landing,
A gentle reorientation,
A way of remembering yourself in the midst of the busyness of everyday life,
Bringing peace to your mind and ease to your body as we regulate our nervous system in small,
Bite-sized practices.
Today's topic is Redefining Success.
Please take a moment to find a comfortable position in a place where you will not be disturbed.
Take a few long,
Slow breaths as together we push the pause button on our day,
Inviting the eyes to close gently for just a few moments.
Sitting up tall in a chair,
Scan your body quickly from the top of your head all the way down to your feet,
Noticing sensations without judgment,
Observing any areas that may feel tight or tense,
And becoming aware of the place where you store stress and negative emotions in your body.
Let's take three cleansing breaths together.
Imagine as we inhale through our nose we can gather all tightness and tension,
Open the mouth and sigh it out.
Inhaling,
Gather any emotions we discovered hiding out within,
And exhaling through the mouth,
Let them go.
Finally,
Inhaling anything that no longer serves you,
And exhaling,
Surrender it to be transformed.
Then,
Invite your mouth to close gently,
Breathing in and out of your nose,
Trusting your body to maintain a comfortable and easy,
Relaxed breath.
Each time your mind wanders off,
Simply notice and return your awareness back to the rise and fall of your breath.
Traditional success is defined solely by external markers,
Rather than personal values and inner fulfillment.
We spend so much time climbing the ladder,
Chasing the titles,
The salary and accolades,
Which may give us a momentary sense of accomplishment.
It may feel rewarding to have our efforts recognized,
Motivating us to work even harder and allowing self-care to fall by the wayside.
The problem comes in when we rely solely on these moments to bring us a sense of fulfillment and joy.
I work with highly successful people,
And I can tell you that the financial success,
While fun and can make life easier,
Also leaves many with a feeling that something is missing.
Despite all external signs of success,
Many have a feeling of needing to do more,
Needing to be more.
They experience a lack of fulfillment.
Most of us are so busy chasing success that we have never truly allowed ourselves to slow down.
We have never taken the time to consider what really matters to us.
What is it that you are really chasing?
Rather than drowning in all the things you feel you should be doing or could be doing,
My invitation to you is to stop and take personal inventory.
Allow yourself this time to redefine what success means to you.
When we choose to define success in our own terms,
We can create a life that feels authentic and value-aligned.
And make a commitment to yourself to stop chasing the illusion of success.
Stop chasing the accumulation of things.
Stop comparing your real life to the highlight reels of others on social media.
And instead,
Start cultivating a feeling of success.
The first step in changing our lives is to define what we want,
Creating the dream,
Believing it's possible.
In today's world,
We have an overabundance of information about being successful.
And a drastic underabundance of people actually feeling successful.
It's not uncommon for people to find themselves coveting what others have.
If we continue to compare ourselves to the images that others portray,
We may never feel like we are enough.
But when we choose to make the shift away from external markers of success to the internal feeling of success,
Everything changes.
Defining success for yourself means aligning your daily life with your personal values,
Your passions,
And your purpose rather than chasing external markers like wealth or status.
It's an evolving journey focused on fulfillment,
Joy,
And achieving self-set goals.
How would your life change?
What would shift for you if you defined success as a full life where you make a difference,
Feeling fully seen,
Accepted,
And loved as you live your purpose?
Can you imagine a life where your work brings you satisfaction,
Feeding your soul as well as your wallet,
A life where you could breathe easy,
Release worry,
And share your unique gifts with the world?
Can you imagine a life where freedom is yours,
You can live where you want,
Work when you want,
And your well-being is actually a priority on your schedule?
A life where you find that delicate balance between work and play?
Envision a life where you confidently say no to opportunities that don't align with your values,
A flexible calendar,
Slow,
Relaxed mornings,
The freedom to choose,
Peace of mind,
Being able to be fully present with your loved ones,
A relaxed workplace where you feel like you make a difference,
Achieving goals that you set for yourself,
A space on your schedule to say yes to what makes your heart sing,
Having the ability to show up when others need you.
What more would you add to a new definition of success for you?
Michelle Obama once said,
Success isn't about how your life looks to others,
It's about how it feels to you.
Show up in your life in a way that is authentic,
Meaningful,
And purpose-driven.
Create a life that feels successful to you.
Come back to your breath now,
Bringing this new definition with you as you return to the present moment.
Feeling successful right now as you slowly blink your eyes open with a smile.
Take one step today in the direction of your new definition of success.
Have a great day,
My friends.
