Stress and anxiety can stem from fear,
So I invite you to transform that fear into love by raising your awareness in the next few minutes during this meditation.
So find a comfortable place to be still and quiet.
Rest your eyes,
Lengthen your spine,
And take a few deep breaths in through the nose and out through the nose.
With that next inhale,
Invite some space in between each rib.
Let go of everything else with the exhale.
One more deep inhale and exhale,
And then allow your breath to find its normal cadence.
Bring to mind a recent worry that's been consuming your thoughts.
Perhaps it involves an upcoming event or something that already happened.
Whatever it is,
Allow it to rest with the next few breaths.
Bring in some compassion.
Try not to judge the worry or solve the problem.
Just let it be and breathe.
Where in your body do you feel this worry?
Is it your stomach,
Chest,
Or jaw,
Or somewhere else?
Again,
Just notice where it is.
Try not to resist or change it.
Is it growing or moving or maybe it's even dissolving now that you've given it some loving attention?
Invite a loving awareness into your body with that next inhale.
Allow this loving breath to find the place of discomfort in your physical body without judgment.
Feel and see this loving breath grow brighter and stronger with each inhale until you're completely filled with compassion and love.
Now bring your attention back to that fear or worry and ask yourself,
Is this thought helpful?
What could be a more loving way to see this situation that was causing worry?
Now peering back at fear,
Although this time through the lens of love,
What do you see?
Perhaps there's a new opportunity awaiting you,
A lesson to be learned,
Or even a change of heart.
We can raise our awareness and transform fears into love when we invite a sense of compassionate curiosity to our thoughts and life events.
Sometimes can be hard,
But over time this can be a natural process.
So next time you're weighed down with fear or worry,
Welcome the exploration with a gentle sense of compassion and see what you notice.
Poet Janais Cecilia wrote,
Do not fear the leaves changing for it is leading to the best season of your life yet.
Nice big deep breath here.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes.
