Today,
Let's begin by noticing the breath as it enters our nostrils.
Tightening your awareness of the sensation of the breath.
Releasing the mind of any thoughts.
So that you can experience the body.
Notice the breath as it courses from the nostrils,
Your sinuses,
Down to your lungs.
The experience of the shoulders rising and falling or your belly as it softens on inhalation.
Along with the breath,
Take a moment to scan your body.
Noticing any tension you might be carrying from the night that you can release.
Relax the eyes,
Jaw,
Neck,
Shoulders,
And lower back.
Breathe into these areas.
Softening and settling the body.
Now draw your breath even further.
So that you feel the energy in your legs.
Muscles of your calves.
Notice the ground supporting your feet.
And this support,
Whether through the ground below you,
By which your feet are rooted,
Or the breath.
Is available to you at any moment.
If you draw your awareness to either the breath or the sensations of your feet.
With our body grounded,
I'd like to take a moment to shift to the mind.
As we begin our day.
Notice what you are a commitment for.
The act of coming to a practice and sitting has you in commitment to practice,
And your day also reflects this.
So as you think about how you're entering your day,
What is the commitment that you're taking to stand?
As you think about your commitment.
Notice how you want to show up for your day,
What intention you might set that has you living that commitment.
And we invite you to place both that intention and commitment in the framing of an aspiration.
Perhaps a wish that you place out to the universe for how you might show up.
What conversations you might be steering today.
And taking this back from the mind to the body.
Let's bring ourselves back to the breath.
Once again,
Regrounding ourselves in our feet.
Noticing the experience of a body as you set that aspiration.
Choose an anchor,
Whether it be the breath or your feet that you can return to at any point in the day as a reminder of both the intention and the commitment.
And when you hear the bell.
I invite you to sit for a few more moments.
Noticing the experience in your body before returning to your day.
