Hello and welcome.
I am Julie Skon,
And this is a meditation I call Rainy Day Blues.
I created this to give you some space for emotional feeling,
For releasing,
And ultimately healing.
I wrote this the other day when I was feeling blue.
I was feeling sad.
It just happened to be raining outside,
And I sat down at my kitchen table.
I stared out the window,
Watching the rain come down.
I listened to its beautiful sound,
And I allowed myself to feel what I was feeling.
Without any self-judgment,
Without the pressure to fix it or to hide it or to block it,
I just gave myself the freedom to feel,
To cry,
To release what was coming up for me.
And it was healing,
And it felt so good.
So right here,
Right now,
I invite you to do the same.
Allow yourself to feel whatever it is that you are feeling.
Judgment-free,
Without holding it in or shutting it down,
This time is all for you.
So let's go into meditation together.
As you settle into your comfort,
Sitting up tall or lying down,
Just pause for a moment.
Glance around your space.
Allow your surroundings to begin to soften.
Allow this moment to slow down by gently lengthening and deepening your inhales and exhales.
Listen to the sound of your breathing.
Feel your chest and abdomen rise and fall,
And softly close your eyes.
As you listen to the sound of the rain playing in the background,
Tune into your body.
Notice where your body is holding your emotions.
Maybe it's your abdomen,
Your chest,
Your heart.
Maybe it's your back,
Your shoulders,
Your forehead.
Wherever this is for you,
Guide your breath into this part of you.
Long,
Slow,
Deep inhales and long,
Slow,
Deep exhales.
Allow yourself to feel it.
Listen to what this part of you is saying to you.
Ask this part of you what it needs from you.
The next few minutes are yours.
To listen to the rain,
To feel,
To breathe,
To cry,
To release,
To do whatever feels good for you.
Allow your inhales to be nourishing for your body,
And your exhales to be a release,
A letting go,
A setting free.
I will be back in a few minutes to guide you out.
Rain comes when water droplets become too heavy for the clouds to hold.
And with the rain comes rainbows,
Beautiful sunsets,
New life grows and emerges.
The rain washes away what is stagnant.
Sometimes I think about how we are like clouds.
We hold on to our emotions.
We store them as they build and build until that time comes for them to flow out of us like rain.
That rain,
That emotional release is cleansing.
It's like a giant exhale.
It creates a fresh start.
It makes room for that inner sunshine to rise.
And it's so healing for us mentally,
Physically,
Emotionally,
And energetically.
Let's take a few deep breaths together.
And if you're ready to come out of meditation,
Check in once again with your body.
Check in once again with your body.
The part of you where you store and hold your emotions.
And notice if you feel even a slight sense of relief.
If this time that you've taken for you to feel has created an inner shift.
Maybe there's been a softening,
A lightening of how you feel.
Continue to breathe into this part of you as you go about your day or your night.
Come back to this meditation or create quiet time or listen to the sound of rain.
Allow it to be you time.
To feel.
To cry.
To release whatever it is you're holding on to.
This creates space for the new.
If they aren't open yet,
Please softly open your eyes.
I'm sending you so much love.
Thank you for feeling with me today and for meditating with me.
I hope you have a beautiful day.
