Good morning,
This is Julie Skahn and today's meditation practice is created to fill you with uplifting feelings and to create that positive magnetic energy that having a mindset of gratitude brings.
You may have heard the saying before that gratitude creates gratitude,
But what does that mean?
It means that the more that you are aware of what makes you feel and experience gratitude,
The more you express it and the more you share it,
The more you will attract to be grateful for.
So together,
Let's experience the positive feelings and effects of gratitude and let's attract more of it.
And let's go into meditation.
If they aren't already,
Please gently close your eyes.
Begin to slow your breathing.
Listen to the sound of each inhale and exhale.
As your breath flows for you evenly in and out,
Starting with the soles of your feet,
Slowly moving to the crown of your head,
Softly repeat the words,
Thank you to yourself.
Allow each breath to fill you with droplets of gratitude.
Your body can hear your words.
It can feel the energy,
The meaning and the intention.
Take your time and immerse yourself in the healing energy of gratitude for yourself,
For your mind,
Your body,
Your heart,
For all of you brings.
Take a nice deep breath,
Sending a wave of gratitude through your body one more time and shift your attention into this question.
In this exact moment,
What are you grateful for?
Allow your thoughts to wander,
To explore the littlest of things,
The big things,
The faces,
The places,
The moments.
Just witness and watch where gratitude takes your thoughts today.
Let's take a nice deep breath together.
Place your hands over your heart and once again,
Fill this moment and your day ahead with gratitude by simply repeating the words,
Thank you.
As you start to slowly awaken to your day,
A quick bit of science.
Research shows that when we express or receive gratitude,
Our brains release dopamine and serotonin,
The neurotransmitters that are responsible for our emotions.
They enhance our mood and they're what allow us to feel and experience happiness.
So as you move through your day,
Pause for the moments that fill you with gratitude.
Feel it,
Celebrate it,
And watch as you attract more to be grateful for.
As John Kabat-Zinn said,
The little things,
The little moments,
They aren't little.
Thank you for meditating with me.
If you'd like to,
Please comment and share something with me that you are currently grateful for.
I would love to celebrate it with you.
Come back tomorrow for another morning meditation session or try this one again.
I always find it fun to see how the little things,
The big things,
The people,
The places,
The moments shift as we celebrate gratitude more and more.
Sending you love.
