Hi,
Hello and welcome.
My name is Julie and today we'll be taking a nap together.
We'll start by relaxing our bodies and then I'll tell you a story.
You can just let me talk in the background while you nap or you can see this story as a guided relaxation.
Before we really begin,
I invite you to bring some kind,
Loving awareness to your belly,
To your chest and to your head.
Feel into your body and see what's going on there.
You may be feeling the impact of some old stories you have about this expression,
Filling your cup and that's okay.
Know that you're not alone and many other people will feel the same.
Know that after this nap you will have increased your awareness and you will have filled your cup.
To start,
Close your eyes and begin to relax your body.
Allow your toes and your fingers to relax.
Imagine how it feels to relax.
It's a warm and pleasant feeling.
Maybe you can feel some tingling.
It feels very comfortable to relax like this.
Allow your arms and your legs to relax.
Notice if there are any spots where your muscles are tense and let a loving feeling of relaxation spread to those places.
Allow your belly and your chest to relax.
Notice the soft rise and fall of your belly and your chest.
With every breath,
You can let your breath help you to relax.
Every time you breathe out,
You can allow your muscles to relax a little bit more.
Let the tension leave your body each time you breathe out.
Taking a nap is a time just for you to relax,
To rest and to sleep.
Even if you just relax for a little while without sleeping,
You'll feel refreshed and filled with gratitude afterwards.
It's not so important whether you really sleep in this moment or not.
It's enough just to relax.
You'll wake up when you need to.
So now,
You can take some time to relax.
Just let yourself rest,
Relax and give yourself some time.
Allow your breath to help you move within.
Set an intention to bring yourself some peace.
Breathe in peace,
Breathe out tension.
Breathe in peace,
Breathe out stress.
Breathe in peace,
Breathe out your worries.
Breathe in peace,
Breathe out.
Now bring all of your attention to your belly.
Breathe out tension.
Now bring all of your attention to your breath and allow yourself to move within.
To let the outside world disappear for a while and bring a new world into your mind.
Allow different shapes and colors to come into your view.
The shapes and colors of a garden,
Slowly brightening and sharpening as you look around.
You find yourself in a lush garden,
Surrounded by bright green bushes,
Beautiful statues,
Vibrant plants and flowers.
Take a few moments to look around and take in your new surroundings.
Use your senses.
What can you see?
What colors and textures are here for you in this garden?
What can you feel?
Can you feel soft grass beneath your feet?
Can you feel the warm air against your skin?
What can you hear?
Maybe you can hear some birds flap their wings,
Sing in the trees.
What can you smell?
Breathe in the fresh,
Crisp air.
Smell the plants.
Smell the trees.
If you like,
You can slowly start to walk forward.
You notice a path before you.
The stones on your path are smooth.
They glisten in the sunlight.
Step on this path and continue to walk forward,
Curious about where it leads.
With each step you notice that you are becoming more and more relaxed,
Peacefully following this gently winding path.
You hear trickling water and find yourself before a great stone fountain.
Take a few moments to visualize this fountain,
Noticing the subtle details,
The curves,
The color of the streaming,
Splashing water.
You know that the water in this fountain is here to refresh you.
The water looks so cool,
So clean and so pure just for you.
If you want,
You can cup your hands and dip them into the flow.
If you like,
You can bring your hands to your lips.
You sip the water and drink every last drop.
This water fills you with its coolness,
With its calm.
It helps you feel grateful.
Grateful for this water,
A deep appreciation you've never before experienced fills you.
You're so thankful for this healing,
This refreshing,
This rejuvenation.
Thankful for the opportunity to give your body what it needs.
Once more,
Cup your hands and gather more water.
Drink more slowly now.
The water nourishes you.
It flows into every organ of your body,
Fills every cell with its refreshing energy.
This water,
This fountain can inspire you to appreciate the gifts in your life.
This fountain never goes dry so long as you keep gratitude alive in your heart.
Feel the water flowing through each and every cell in your body,
Filling you with love and gratitude.
The water that flows from this fountain touches everything in the garden,
Nourishing it,
Seeping down into the soil,
Traveling up the roots of every plant,
Every flower,
Providing water for the birds and the small animals that call this garden home.
Notice the way the water invigorates these living things,
The same way it invigorates your body.
The grass beneath your feet is supple.
The trees above you are strong.
Their leaves floating in the sun,
Filling your hands with water.
Drinking from this fountain,
You fill your own cup of love.
Feel the love in the water permeate through every membrane in your body,
Allowing you to swell,
To pulsate with love for this water,
This garden,
Love for yourself and love for everything and everyone in your life.
There is enough love,
There is enough gratitude for everyone,
There is enough for everything in this garden,
Everything in your life.
You can lie or sit down for a moment here in your garden.
You can lie down on your back and watch the small clouds float by.
You can watch the trees sway gently in the breeze.
You can listen to the sound of the birds,
The sound of your fountain gently burbling along,
The sound of this new energy pulsating through your body.
As the garden blossoms from the water,
You can feel your life blossoming and perking up.
New energy,
New love,
New gratitude flows through you as water flows through your garden.
You can rest here for a while,
Breathing,
Relaxing.
Simply enjoy your time in this garden,
Peaceful and relaxed.
The rhythm of the fountain is pleasant,
It's a slow,
Easy rhythm,
Very relaxing.
Let your body be heavy,
Let it be comfortable here in the grass,
So relaxed,
So sleepy,
Safe,
Serene,
Calm.
You drift off into sleep,
Safe,
Peaceful,
Dreamy sleep.
