Good morning my friends.

I'm happy to be here with you today to start our day with a cup of coffee or tea or beverage of your choice.

So bringing your beverage with you and settling into a seated position where you feel comfortable and supported.

Maybe noticing where your feet are touching the ground,

Your lower back is supported by the chair,

Or your thighs are pressing down into the cushion or the chair beneath you.

And from that place of feeling grounded and rooted just noticing the spine and seeing if you can lengthen the spine,

Bringing the crown of your head up into the direction of the sky.

And from here we'll take a nice nourishing inhale through the nose.

And exhale through the mouth,

Releasing tension,

Releasing the dreariness of the night and welcoming this new day.

Breathing in the cool nourishing breath on the inhale.

And as you exhale feeling the warm breath as it leaves through the mouth.

One more time.

As we arrive here let's just take the shoulders and bring them up to the ears and round them back,

Just circling the shoulders.

And just bringing a little bit of movement into your body,

You'll awaken your body from our slumber sleep.

And then bringing the shoulders back to a natural position.

And let's just bring the head up,

Looking up towards the sky,

The morning sky.

And then bringing the head down,

Looking down towards the earth.

And greeting the earth this morning and welcoming the sky above.

And then coming back to center.

And taking your palms and turning the palms up,

Noticing the lightness within the palms of your hands.

And then start to pick up the beverage that you've chosen this morning and just feel the weight of the beverage in the palm of your hands.

And then we'll start to notice the temperature.

The temperature of the cup,

Maybe the sides of the cup,

The bottom of the cup.

The temperature of your beverage this morning.

And then using the sense of sight,

Looking at the cup and seeing how light is reflected off of the cup.

Or variations of colors that might be on your cup.

And looking into the cup at the beverage,

Seeing the reflections,

The colors,

The movements.

And using the sense of smell,

Bringing the beverage up to the nose and breathing in the warmth of the beverage that you've chosen.

And then gradually we're going to start to bring the cup up to the mouth and as you bring the cup up to the mouth and you take your first sip,

Just allow the beverage to swirl around within the mouth.

And then allow the beverage to slide down the back of your throat,

Feeling the sensations of the beverage as it moves down into the digestive system.

Gently licking the lips,

Feeling the sensations of the mouth being bathed by our morning beverage.

Continue on with this practice as you maybe take your first sip or the next or any time during the day where you need that opportunity to just slow down,

Reconnecting with yourself,

Nourishing and supporting yourself.

It's taking this moment to have a sense of gratitude for showing up for yourself,

For nurturing and caring for yourself.

That may feel right to place just a hand on the heart and feel the tenderness that is there.

And as you bring the hand back down towards the lap with your palm open,

Noticing the sense of that love and tenderness being shared outward to the people that you meet throughout your day.

May you stay healthy and may you stay well.

Very well done. I appreciated the few movements at the beginning and loved my first sip of coffee. However, rhe sound was very low for me, maybe you could look into this for future meditations. Thank you!
