Explore MeditationJoe is a former Marine turned English professor with a passion for dharma practice. His primary training is in vipassana practice but he reads widely across all dharma traditions. He is a graduate of the Engaged Mindfulness Institute’s 300-hour teacher training program. Joe volunteers in the Washington D.C. area to teach mindfulness to incarcerated people. He believes in sharing the dharma widely, especially in communities that typically don't have access to meditation instruction. He is developing skills in American Sign Language in order to be able to share teachings with Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing meditators with the hope of building a sangha of signers.
