He became certified in meditation through the Interdependence Project, and he teaches at the periodically at the Nalanda Institute for Contemplative Science. For over 12 years, he has helped students learn the science of mindfulness and meditation through the popular course, Mindfulness and Meditation in Psychology, at The New School. He's also written about mindfulness, including his first book, Urban Mindfulness: Finding Peace, Presence, and Purpose in the Middle of It All, and Plantfulness: How to Change Your Life with Plants.
