Welcome to your happy morning meditation.
Begin by finding a comfortable position,
Either sitting up or lying down.
Take a big deep breath and feel yourself beginning to relax.
Plan your body and notice any areas of tension.
For each area,
Use your breath to breathe in relaxation and breathe out the tension.
Take your awareness to each area.
Maybe it's your shoulders,
Your lower back,
Your forehead.
Experience the sensation of relaxation rippling over your whole body.
Take a moment now to notice where your thoughts are.
Have they raced ahead to all the things you need to do today?
Are they thinking about something that happened yesterday?
Invite all those parts of yourself that are somewhere else to come back now and allow yourself to be fully here in this moment.
As thoughts arise,
Simply acknowledge them,
Saying,
Thank you thought,
Goodbye thought.
Now picture a place where you have felt really happy.
It may be a place in your home,
A park,
A river,
A mountain,
At the beach,
Perhaps a holiday destination.
Just choose the first place that comes to mind.
Imagine yourself there now.
What can you see?
What can you hear?
What can you smell?
What can you touch?
What can you taste?
Add as many details to the experience as you can.
In your mind's eye,
Allow it to feel real.
Notice how you feel.
Allow the feeling of happiness to increase.
I will now give you some time to stay here in your happy place,
Bathing in the feelings of happiness for a few minutes.
Allow you to notice more details and enjoy and expand your feelings of happiness.

It is time to come back now.
Take a moment to fully return to your physical body in the here and now.
Wriggle your fingers and toes and when you are ready,
Slowly,
Gently open your eyes.
You can revisit this meditation any time you want to start your day feeling happy.
