Our minds are conditioned to remember the 'bad' way more than the good. So instead of denying the memory that will come with the last time you may have played a similar shot or even the actual hole, instead remember it and then quickly revise it. Be conscious that you are remembering a negative memory (possibly just one shot ago), and instead revise this thought pattern to instead seeing a perfect shot that you know you have hit before and are capable of hitting now.

Welcome to this visualization practice on changing a bad shot memory into a positive memory,

Revising the scene.

Find a quiet and comfortable place to sit or lie down.

Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths,

Allowing yourself to relax and be present in this moment.

Today we will embark on a meditation that will help you transform a past memory of a poor shot into a source of empowerment and confidence.

Visualize yourself on the golf course,

Standing at the very spot where you remember hitting that challenging shot during a previous round.

As you bring that memory to mind,

Notice any feelings of frustration or disappointment that arise.

Acknowledge those emotions without judgment.

Now take a deep breath and imagine a soft golden light surrounding you.

This light is a symbol of your inner strength and resilience.

With each breath,

Let that light grow brighter,

Enveloping you in a warm and comforting embrace.

As you stand at that spot,

Replay the memory of the poor shot in your mind.

See yourself as you were on that day and observe the flight of the ball,

But this time you have the power to change the outcome.

In your mind's eye,

Pause the scene.

Imagine a moment where you pause and take a deep breath,

Just like you're doing now.

Feel the calmness and clarity wash over you.

As you exhale,

Release any tension or negative energy associated with that memory.

Now,

With a clear and focused mind,

See yourself approaching the ball with a sense of purpose and confidence.

Visualize your swing,

Smooth and controlled.

Imagine the ball taking the perfect trajectory,

Flying through the air,

Exactly as you intended.

Feel the satisfaction of executing the shot flawlessly.

As the ball lands exactly where you wanted it to,

Notice the sense of accomplishment and pride welling up within you.

Feel the positive energy emanating from this revised scene.

This is how the shot was meant to be played,

A reflection of your true golfing potential.

Take a moment to breathe in this new memory,

Absorbing the confidence and empowerment it brings.

This memory now replaces the old one,

And you carry it with you in your next shot.

As this meditation comes to a close,

Gently bring your awareness back to the present moment.

Open your eyes and carry the sense of empowerment and confidence with you onto the golf course.

You have the ability to be the best golf player in the world,

And you have the ability to be the best golfer in the world,

And you have the ability to be the best golfer in the world.
