Sometimes it's hard to add daily meditation into your life. So I created a 5 day, 5 minute meditation challenge to help you! These will be quick guided meditations to assist you in doing one for five days in a row. Welcome to Day 5. In this meditation we talk about 'greenlights.' Which is a term I learned from reading Matthew McConaughey's book. So looking for the greenlights, learning from the red lights.

Welcome to your five minute,

Five day meditation challenge.

And yes,

You've made it to day number five.

Congratulations.

Thank you for taking part in the last four days of this beautiful challenge and introducing meditation into your life.

I encourage you to continue the practice,

To continue seeking out meditations to bring into your life whatever amount of minutes you can give to the day.

It's just a continued practice.

Here on day number five,

Our intention and our focus is going to be called the green lights.

I recently listened to the audio book by Matthew McConaughey called Green Lights,

Which focuses on those moments in our life when we're given that green light to go forward to the next.

So our intention is just to be more aware of the opportunities where there's green lights and knowing that even if there's maybe yellow or red lights,

They're there to take you on the journey to get you to the green light.

I invite you now to close your eyes if you haven't already done so and get yourself situated into a comfortable position.

You can sit or you can lay down whatever feels most comfortable for you in this moment.

We will start by centering our bodies and taking a long,

Slow,

Deep breath in and then gently let that go.

One more long,

Slow,

Deep breath in through your nose.

Let's sigh that one out,

Allowing your body to sink into that comfortable position,

Letting all of our tension,

Our thoughts,

Our perceived pressures from our days in our life to just sink down into the floor,

The chair,

And the surface beneath us.

Let's allow that green light to melt off your body and roll away from you.

Focus now just on your regular breathing,

Its normal pace and length,

The rise and fall of your chest and your belly.

In this moment,

You are weightless and you are light.

There's no right or wrong.

There is just now.

As we settle into our inner selves,

Taking time to listen to the messages we receive from within,

We ask for the guidance,

For the knowing,

For the discernment of when we're faced with a green light.

The green light being the opportunity for you to take the next step into wherever you're headed next.

This could be personal things,

Work-related things,

Relationships with others,

And relationships with yourself.

Setting that intention now in our bodies,

We know it's a green light.

We're going to feel it in our gut.

We're going to feel it in our heart center.

We're going to release fear and we're going to go for it.

And I bet if you bring to your mind's eye now,

You can think of situations where you knew you were hitting a green light,

Where you knew what to do next.

And you can probably bring to mind those moments where you felt resistance or hesitation,

Where you felt like you were in momentum and then you were asked to slow down.

Yellow light,

Red light,

Overcoming resistance,

Redirecting for change,

Shifting a mindset,

All leads us to the next green light.

And knowing that whenever you're faced with those moments,

You can stop just like you are now.

Take a deep breath in and start to ask yourself,

Why am I feeling this way?

Where am I heading next?

How can I get to the next green light?

As we practice meditation,

It allows us to retrain our brains,

Retrain our thoughts,

And start to look inward more.

And be reminded,

The path to those next green lights is also found within.

A great way outside of meditation to help you get to those places is by doing a daily journal or a weekly journal if that feels overwhelming.

But allow yourself to write down these thoughts,

Just another tool to get you to a green light.

You can start now to wiggle your fingers and your toes and become aware of the room around you.

And when you are ready,

And only then,

You can begin to open your eyes.

Thank you for taking part in this five day,

Five minute meditation challenge.

I'm proud of you,

And you've started a really great habit.

I invite you to continue to follow my meditations and others within this app so that you can add continued daily meditation practice to your life.

I hope you have an amazing rest of your day.

This was perfect. I laughed when you said it was about Green lights as I too have just finished reading the book which I loved! It felt so aligned. Thank you 🙏🏻
