Welcome dear one.
And settle somewhere comfortable and allow your body to be supported.
And if you have lavender essential oil,
Place one drop on aromatherapy blotter or tissue.
Or simply breathe beside your diffuser.
Keeps the oil away from your eyes and avoid placing it undiluted upon your skin.
If you don't have lavender with you,
Just imagine its familiar fragrance and a field of violet flowers moving beneath an evening sky.
Close your eyes and breathe naturally.
There is no need to take an enormous breath,
Just let your inhalation be gentle.
Receive the fragrance and then slowly breathe out.
Lavender arrives without urgency.
It doesn't demand that you relax,
It simply offers a place which relaxation may begin.
Breathe in again and notice the soft floral sweetness,
The clean herbal note.
And the faint earthiness beneath it.
And as you breathe out,
Imagine your exhalation becoming longer and softer.
And let your jaw loosen.
And allow your tongue to rest.
And let your shoulders move away from your ears.
And imagine yourself standing at the edge of a lavender field as dusk settles around you.
The day is slowly folding itself away.
The sky is painted in muted rose,
Silver and violet.
And you walk between the rows of flowers.
And as your hands brush lightly above them,
Their fragrance rises into the cooling air.
And with every step.
Leave something behind.
One step for the conversation still echoing in your mind.
One for the tasks that remain unfinished.
And one for the expectations you have carried.
And one for the tiredness you have not allowed yourself to acknowledge.
Breathe in the lavender.
And breathe out and silently say,
I don't need to carry this into my next moment.
And ahead of you is a small wooden seat.
Sit here in your imagination and watch the final light resting upon the field.
Nothing needs your attention here.
The Earth is holding you.
The evening is receiving you.
Your breath is guiding you home.
Take another slow breath in,
And as you exhale,
Imagine the whole body releasing one deep sigh.
From the crown of your head to the soles of your feet.
And silently repeat,
I soften without fear.
I rest without guilt.
I release what today no longer needs.
And remain for another moment inside the lavender dusk.
Then begin to notice the room around you.
Feel the surface supporting your body and the natural rhythm of your breath.
Move your fingers and toes and open your eyes.
Carry this beautiful softness with you.
You don't need to wait until everything is finished before you allow yourself peace.
May lavender remind you that sometimes healing begins with nothing more complicated than a safe place,
A tender breath and one exhale from the soul.
Namaste.
