Today's practice invites you to connect with yourself through your breath.
So get yourself comfortable in a sitting position.
With your back straight.
You can close your eyes or you can keep them open.
Rest in your gaze on the floor,
Three to six feet in front of you.
In the beginning,
Imagine vertical energy of light flowing through the top of your head,
Down through your heart.
Down grounding you to the point just below your navel.
Take a moment to scan for sounds far away and close by.
Take a moment to scan for sounds far away.
And close by.
Bring your attention back to centre.
And now create the connection.
Take a few conscious inhales and exhales at your own comfortable pace.
Be present to them.
Notice the rhythm of your inhales and exhales.
Do you notice a difference in your body's emotional state as you inhale?
And then as you exhale.
One cannot exist without the other.
You can feel like with every breath,
Life flows through you.
Here and now.
Allow yourself to have even deeper presence.
Being one with your breath.
Follow the length of each inhale and exhale.
Being one with your breath.
Follow the length of each inhale and exhale.
Being one with your breath,
Notice the depth of your inhales and exhales.
Notice the new element,
The space in between.
The moment of suspension at the top of your inhale.
And at the bottom of your exhale.
Let yourself access timelessness in that space.
What comes up for you in this practice?
If you always rush,
It's normal to feel discomfort sometimes,
As your attention tries to match the pace of your peaceful breath.
It's natural to feel discomfort before you let yourself be held by the reassuring comfort of your calming breath.
As you come to the end of this practice,
Take a deep inhale one more time.
Put your hands together in front of your heart,
In the center of your chest.
Lift them up above your head and slowly open your arms to the sides of your body.
And then hands come together in front of your chest one more time.
Feeling aligned and present to yourself.
This is your day.
