You Sit comfortably with your spine reasonably straight Close your eyes and let your breathing be easy and natural Take a few moments to let everything settle a bit Now bring your attention to your breathing and remain slightly mindful of your breathing throughout this meditation You have a physical body,

But you are not your body You can use your body to move around in the world You can feel your body and its sensations,

But you are not your body You are not your emotions.

You may feel your emotions as they come and go,

But you are not your emotions You are not your thoughts.

Thoughts are just a stream of energy and ideas moving through your mind You are not your body,

Emotions,

Or thoughts.

These are all changeable and impermanent The real you is the eternal,

Unchanging awareness behind your body,

Emotions,

And thoughts You are the pure,

Serene awareness that is conscious of your body,

Emotions,

And thoughts This is your inner self No circumstance can disturb the profound peace of your inner self Now take some time to experience your inner self Just breathe and be your calm inner self The awareness behind your body,

Mind,

And emotions Rest easily in the peaceful awareness of your serene inner self To help you stay focused,

You can use the mantra,

I am I as you inhale,

Am as you exhale If you notice that your attention has wandered off,

Gently bring it back to your calm inner self You can use the mantra,

I am I as you inhale,

Am as you exhale If you notice that your attention has wandered off,

Gently bring it back to your calm inner self You You You You You You You You You You You You You You You You You You Now take a deep breath or two.

Fanatastic. Just enough guidance to get a beginner like me in the right headspace before releasing him or her to his or her own journey.
