Rather than jumping on the to-do's and immediately engaging in the tasks for the day, choose to begin this brand new day in stillness, connecting with your breath and setting a mindful intention for the day ahead. Experience for yourself the benefits of regularly making the time for you in your space. To observe your thoughts and practice meditation on and off the cushion.

Welcome to today's meditation on setting intention in this brand new day.

To get started,

Coming to your favorite posture,

Preferred posture can be sitting down on a cushion,

On a pillow,

On your couch,

However you feel comfortable this morning.

Before closing your eyes,

Make sure that if you're sitting on a couch,

Your feet are planted on the floor.

And if you're sitting on a cushion or a pillow,

Blanket on the floor,

Make sure that your legs are in a comfortable position for you.

Let's begin by taking a slow breath in through our nose.

Open your mouth and sigh it out.

Still with your eyes open,

Feel that connection with whatever it is supporting you.

Take a quick scan around yourself.

Perhaps you're just waking up and you are not fully awake yet,

That's okay.

The intention with today's meditation is to connect with ourselves and set that tone for your day.

Now let's close your eyes.

Connect with your breath,

There's no need to change it,

Just witness your breath.

Inhale,

Exhale.

There's no need to change,

There's no need to force,

Just connect and flow.

Before jumping into anything on your to-do list,

Before rushing into the first task of your day,

Take a moment to thank yourself for taking this seat.

Connect with your inner self and begin your day with intention.

If at any moment your thoughts start to try to overwhelm your mind,

Remind yourself that having thoughts into your life,

That you're breathing,

So rather than fighting your thoughts,

Rather than resisting them,

Just observe.

Sometimes the busyness and the amount of noise in our minds and in our lives block the possibility to observe the thoughts.

And for the most part,

Between all those thoughts,

There is one or two or more that would love to get your attention and the busyness and the noise don't allow us.

So taking this moment to sit and be with yourself and observe.

This is an opportunity for you to be open and receive.

Be with your breath.

Now let's take this meditation a step further and let's set an intention together.

Place your hands on your chest.

Feel your heartbeat and set an intention for your day ahead.

Perhaps that intention can be paused between tasks.

Be present in every moment,

Perhaps the intention is to give yourself permission to focus on one thing at a time today.

Perhaps that intention is to give yourself permission to pause in the presence of any trigger,

Any challenge or anything that presents to you today.

That intention can be anything you want to be.

Breathe into your intention and with your exhale release it out to the universe.

With your hands still on your chest connected to your breath and your heartbeat,

Let's take a slow inhale to our nose.

We're going to hold at the top and we're going to release out of our mouth.

I want to thank you for meditating with me today in this very short morning meditation to begin your day by connecting with yourself and setting an intention for your day ahead.

May you enjoy of a blessed day ahead.

Thank you for meditating with me.

Stay lovable,

Stay safe and stay mindful.

On to our next meditation.
